Development History
The Peasants Rebellion - Objects
Unlike during the development of The Shattered Kingdom, there were not all too many changes during the development of the expansion pack. The changes that did happen are listed below.
Units
Oriental Assassins | Back when The Shattered Kingdom was reviewed by the German magazine PC Joker, Adam Sprys shared some short words regarding a possible add-on pack. He jokingly mentioned the possibility of dragons appearing, but on a more serious tone mentioned the possibility of oriental assassins making an appearance. |
Unit Icons (Parchment)
![]() Ballista |
This is the earliest known version of the ballista parchment graphic. As can be seen from here, the ballista originally had 50% armor. For some reason this armor was later reduced to 25%; perhaps they thought the ballista was too powerful? Furthermore the ballista was weaker in attack strength at this point with just five bows present in the parchment graphic instead of six. |
![]() Ballista |
Here is the second revision of the ballista stats and this is how the game was released. The armor rating of the ballista was reduced to just 25%, but the attack power of the siege weapon was increased. |
![]() Catapult |
This is the earlier parchment graphic for the catapult. A look reveals that the stats of the catapult and the ballista were actually identical, which probably explains why the stats were altered. |
![]() Catapult |
The second revision of the catapult stats. Both the attack power and the armor rating of the catapult were reduced for the release of the game. |
![]() Militia |
When the game was released the militia carried the parchment graphic on the left. The stats of the unit itself did not match those displayed however, as the attack value of the militia was actually 35% and not 25% as the graphic would have you believe. This was later fixed in a patch. |

Building Icons (Signs)
![]() Iron mine |
The earlier version of the iron mine sign. This icon still uses the earlier red color of the icon that originates from the beta days of The Shattered Kingdom when the iron ore itself was red. |
![]() Town hall |
This was used as the first version of the town hall sign. Most likely it wasn't ever seriously meant to be used as the icon and it was merely a placeholder. |
![]() Woodcutter's |
Here we have the earlier version of the woodcutter's sign. It is a bit more simple than the final icon and the newer icon no doubt looks better. |
