I did an investigation as to why when I beat Zombie Apocalypse Solo v1.1 four times why I didn’t obtain 45418 points.
The problem was only 45150 points worth of troops was created. It now makes sense now why I got different points each win: the script awards me points for killing my own soldiers with my ranged units (my winning scores were always over 45150).
It turns out that even the “units killed” counter built into the game includes how many of your own men you killed as well as enemy troops and units.
I have created counters for all enemy troop types, and so this version of the script displays how many units I lost (strictly killed by the AI), how many I killed (including how many of my own that I killed), as well as how many of each troop type I killed. Doing this allowed me to quickly pinpoint the problems with v1.1 script I have provided fixes so that all troops are created.
8 missing lance carriers (wave 008)
Change creation point from (21, 12) to (21, 22).
18 missing pikemen (wave 019)
Change creation point from (20, 13) to (21,22)
66 missing crossbowmen (waves 039-060)
(3 weren’t created each wave)
Change all occurrences of the creation point from (37,15) to (37,14).
Now all 45418 points should be available if one doesn’t let the pikemen and crossbowmen build up too much (the statistics are in my previous post). So I guess these changes will be included in the next official version, say, v1.2.
Zombie Apocalypse Made Easy for Multiplayer/SP can to lose very few troops!!!
I have played this script several times in an attempt to beat it with a new strategy for two of the 5 meat walls. By doing so, I prove that I have fixed all errors in the script (because I did the calculations in my program before and finally the game agrees with it). This strategy is more ideal for MP, and, as I've said, it makes ZA EASY to beat for 2 or more players!
(This is a new record, but again, the maximum number of points available to earn in v1.1 is 45150 + points you earn from killing your own troops, but now it's 45418 + points you earn from killing your own troops.)
For convenience, I have also attached the fixed script (and map, so that you can watch this replay without getting error messages in the screen during the replay).
Skypper, you can just copy the script from wave 002 to the end, if you don't want all of those counters to be displayed during game play.
Comments about this Replay
My goal was to come up with an alternate strategy which allows a SP to lose as few troops as possible.
My previous record still stands at 271 losses, where I intentionally let the crossbowmen and pikemen build up.
In this game, I lost 289, but for most of the game, I didn't allow any build up. I had a very high kill-to-lose ratio before wave 51, but I made a big mistake, lost many, but then recovered for the win.
6 in waves 1-24
45 in waves 1-45 (exactly 1 soldier per wave)
63 in waves 1-50
then at wave 52, when things went downhill, I lost around 100 troops in waves 52-55.
Wave 56, 17 lost
Wave 57, 19 lost
Wave 58, 9 lost
Wave 59, 11 lost
Wave 60, 19 lost
After I won, a total of 289 lost (5 of which I killed--4 of my knights and 1 of my bowmen).
So, should I have not messed up, and if the AI wasn't so aggressive (I think it was furious with me
), I think it's possible to lose fewer than 180 troops in SP using this technique...just maintain those setups! It's just hard watching 6 things at once, LOL.
Does someone want to give this a try using my strategy? Maybe in MP where one person gets the northeastern corner, middle north, and perhaps one of the 4 meat wall setups to the south? I would LOVE to see others do a MP version of this setup (or something very similar)!
the game changes at two critical times: wave 52 (barbarians appear in the north east...see the above replay to see how to deal with that), and wave 59 (when the second knight group appears in the north east...see the replay below to see my intention for wave 60, but also applies to wave 59 to prevent this knight group from destroying the middle north meat wall).
