1. Multiplayer maps almost are working fine. Just evelating of hills in unexplored areas is very flat somehow.

2. No, AI doesen't work with multiplayer :(

Oh, I didn't know that. I think that's because the light value is now set to 16, and that will change the rendering. Download my Multiplayer Map Fixer (from advance downloads on Litude's site) and convert the map file using different numbers. (in the little spin edit thing) Originally Krom's editor used 0, and that crashed KaM in multiplayer. (but worked in single player) My guess is that higher numbers mean less shadow so try a low number like 1 and see if it looks any better. If it does then I will ask Krom to change it.

Hmm... Well at least you CAN play the map. Before it was impossible, and I think there was also the elevation error then. (but you couldn't see it because of the fake fog of war)
Yeah, my tool may not fix everything, but it's a start. I am aiming to update it at some point, but I have no idea how to.

I was thinking of the elevation as that's the only problem with me, I haven't had any crashes with custom maps (I think this may have been to do with an older version of a map editor?)

Yes, (it was an older version of Krom's map editor) and it wasn't a crash, it was the fake fog of war.
I am now thinking that it is a different byte causing these issues, there are quite a lot of unknowns. Maybe 12 and 13 that The Barbarian seemed to think affected the light settings?
I'm going to have a look at this at some point, but right now a new editor release seems more important.

I thought for a moment that that might be the standard encoding, but a quick test showed that it wasn't - it's either just complete bullshit or something I haven't heard of.

Wait.. did you say you opened the MAP as mission? That would explain the "funny pattern" that I saw in the data. I didn't think it would actually be a map though..

I'm working on new version that will support XL maps (512x512). Of course KaM won't be able to load them, but you could make one giant landscape and then copy it's pieces into individual maps, granting perfect terrain flow across missions.

Credit for the idea goes to Harold.
