hmm...

hmm, tried that but it didnt work. the readme file of that says it only fixes sluggish gameplay and color palette. my problem is that the game doesnt even start. As soon as i attempt to start it, windows vista says KM is not responding. Even after putting compatability mode to xp and running as admin.

Any other ideas on how to get it to work? Any help is greatly appreciated. I guess my last resort is to partition a small 1gb spot on my HDD and make it windows xp and use it only for the game i guess.

The original version (1.3?)? hmm.. that's strange, it works (with the ddraw.dll fix) fine here. My problem is that the network playing version (1.32) crashes on startup if I have the ddraw.dll in the kam folder, without the ddraw.dll the mouse (or actually the whole game) is sluggish.

Yeah, it is Vista.

These are the results I got from trying to play multi..

TSK:
v1.3, without ddraw.dll - mouse / whole game is sluggish, unplayable.

v1.3, with ddraw.dll - works under Vista with the ddraw.dll, but 1.3 is the version that doesn't have a working network.. (<space> to wait, <f1> to end message appearing constantly)

v1.32, without ddraw.dll - mouse / whole game is sluggish, unplayable.

v.132, with ddraw.dll - crashes

P.S. TSK under vm acted weird as well, stuttering with the sound and game, but that might be something different.

TPR:
1.58 SR2 - with ddraw.dll - game runs, but network gave the same error as 1.3 version.

1.58 SR2 - without ddraw.dll - game sluggish, unplayable.

1.60 SR3 b6 - with ddraw.dll - game runs, network untested

1.60 SR3 b6 - without ddraw.dll - sluggish, unplayable.

thanks for the helping out. So if multiplayer cant be played on the original version of TSK then what is the best version to play multiplayer, without a problem? i konw that TPR has a desync bug so im not even going to try that. and where can i download an update that works properly with multiplayer?

It has a working network, sometimes you just need several (dozen) attempts to make it start (tested on Windows 7 x64).

Do you know that Windows 7 Pro/Ultimate has an virtual Xp-mode which could run KaM?
KaM is not working on my virtual xp, anyone knows how to make it work?

Don't know if anyone's ever noticed this, but I now keep All KaM files on my desktop. After I patched the game, I tried running it from a shortcut on my desktop, and from the shortcut pinned to start menu, but it always comes up with the error, then says needs to close program, etc. But if you use the exe directly from the folder the game will actually run at least, operating system probably depends on performance though.

Well, I always do that after patching (Polish patch doesn't include automatic installer), it crashes no matter what else I do.

What game language and OS version are you using?
