General online KaM championship

Well... I'm a bit afraid... :?
Is it a mortal sin to mention an idea of a great online KaM championship?
On Hungarian forum TGWH and me are desperately trying to arrange a modest battle championship between Christmas and New Year but enthusiasm of our members is quite low.
May I rely on some of you to make the number of participants exceed two? You can also put comments on TGWH's english forum if you're interested. :?
Of course date could be modified according to requirements.

I'm afraid i can't participate because I'm goin to spent my christmas and new year with my cousins and other realtives.

Buw how are you going to arrange this? First, TPR multiplayer has that awful bug so you must use TSK (gotta try to bribe more those librarians *check the last chapter* :D ). There has been no online lobby for many years. I've heard sometimes people (from other games) talking about Hamachi. Has anyone ever tested it with KaM?
Is this some kind of league or playoff?

KAM works fine with Hamachi
It's probably a bigger problem to find contestants

Why does bugs of TPR explain the dropping of number of players? I also experienced that bug more times and then what? TSK is as great to play in a championship as TPR would be without synchronising errors.

I'm afraid that there will never be a time when noone has to visit his realtives. As far as I can help, I didn't declared the session for Christmas, neither for New Year but between them, otherwise I can quote myself saying:
Of course date could be modified according to requirements.

I don't think I can enter a tournament, I have to work on every day besides christmas and new year itself.

Besides, my internet connection would probably fail during the game itself.

Well, I just ment that everyone who owns TPR may not own the TSK.

Well, I didn't said it clearly enough, (I haven't finished my studies yet so my English isn't so good sometimes.) I spent the whole time between Christmas and New Year. The reason I can't participate is that our granny doesn't have internet connection at her place. Of course we spent time together etc. but it won't take so much time - actually me and my cousins play at least once something with LAN during the week like many years before.

But back to the topic: Is this tournament played as league or playoff?

You were clear enough. I'm not attacking you, just can't guess when we can have as many players as near the feasts :?: (most of people doesn't have time during the year). You can offer another time, if you have a better idea.

I think we should have sessions with the utmost players, and the winner of a match should be promoted to the next turn. When number of players go under 6 (or equal), that will be the final match. The winner of the final gets his award, e.g. a prepared mission or sg. like this.
Whether these matches will be 'league against league' or 'all fighting' I think shouldn't be defined in advance. The more results are inponderable, the more turns are exciting.

Definitely a good idea. It will be hard to acomplish, but I would certainly sign up for this tourtanament.
By the way, how many players do we need to make it happen?

If we want to promote only one player in each game and we'd like to make the best of it, we need a number of players that can be divided by 6, as at the most 6 players can participate in a TSK session.
I think this would require too many people to have its sense, so I'd say let's let the winner of a game and all his allies onwards, thus we neither need to think of partibility, for we cannot predict how many players will join the future winner during the game.
This way we need about 20-25 players as a lower limit, but no maximum would be defined.

On a second thougt (and seeing how terrible Im at playing this game T_T) I would like it to be in teams .

Once the faster player trained his/her first soldier the result of '1 versus 1' is easily calculable. I have experiences like that. At least 3-4 people must play in a game. I can accept an all fighting championship but find indefinite alliances much more changeable.

Indeed. Should you host a tournament I would like it to be 1vs1vs1vs1 or FF with indefinite alliances, it gives the game another factor to consider.

But hey, thats just my opinion ^^ do as you see fit.

Could you help us by telling your will to participate on the English section of our Hungarian forum?
As far as I know you don't have to register to do that.
