Serf Priority

I've the following question. How does a serf decide which item he carries?

okay, i looked a little bit into the code and to me it looks like :
fill school and inn has always highest priority,
house to house is preferred
weapon production has higher priority than "normal" items.

do i miss anything?

Also account for distance between serf and delivery source and distance between source and destination IIRC

It depends which game you're playing on. On the remake the school and inn have top priority. In the original TSK and TPR only the inn had top priority and the rest was just whichever serf was closest to whichever task needed to be completed.
