Is Banished worth buying?

I'm thinking about buying it. I saw some players here, so what is your opinion about this game?

I, personally, think it is worth it, but buy if off Steam. I bought if off GOG.com since that helps the Remake in a way, but I wish I haddn't. Installing mods on non-steam versions is a pain, and I still haven't figured it out. It's only 20USD so even if you only play it for a few weeks, that's still not so bad.

If you are okay with a bit boring/depressing game/gui (especially when compared to KaM) then you should try it

I have spent just 2 hour long sessions with it when it came out. Didn't played it ever since. Wish I could transfer my purchase to you (bought it from GOG though)

It's getting better with time though. Mods are now possible and there have been some important bug fixes too.
In my opinion, the biggest problem is the GUI, but you get used to it, really. After you get accustomed to the bland GUI, you'll notoce a lack of variety in the game. That is the long term biggest problem, perhaps. However, I imagine mods will come out soon to amend both these issues

Personally I don't think it's worth it.
It pretty linear.
You build, expand your town and try to keep everyone alive.
If you fail, start over with a new town..

Ofcourse I'm one of the few that can't really enjoy Alien Isolation because there is to little action and to much stealth.

No, I didn't. I saw the prize too high for such a small gain.

But I played it for a while (cracked) and I got bored after I built my 5th town . cracked game, hammer of admins will crush me soon

Got bored with it after 2 evenings. Never launched ever since.

I've started playing Banished a few days ago.

I'm definitely hooked. I like the fact that it has no military stuff in it. I've always liked the economy part of KaM the best and that's what Banished offers
+ it's really cheap right now with the Steam sales.

Banished is on sale again on Steam. i've had my eye on it for a while as Steam offers a workshop and I (regrettably) bought it originally on GOG.com. I forked out another $5.00 or so for it and I love the workshop. I recommend the Colonial Charter mod: It brings so many things that were missing in the original game!
