I like the idea of buildings stopping working when too damaged... what about setting the game to kick the worker out of the building if it's too damaged?
("work? I won't even ENTER that ruin until it's repaired...")
As for fire on buildings... making them crack and break would be more realistic but would also be a lot of work on the sprites...
Yet, it would be great if we could have both things: melee breaks buildings (high "cracking damage"), ranged sets them on fire (very low "cracking damage"+low "fire damage" if arrows keep being fired, very low continuous "fire damage" if arrows stop being fired but the fire is not set out - or isn't extinguished naturally; maybe make it so that only the percentage of the building's HP built using wood can be burned down?)
