Knights and Merchants and Vista - How does it perform?

Hi!

Long since last, anyways does anyone here have access to Windows Vista? It would be nice to know how well both The Shattered Kingdom and The Peasants Rebellion perform on it. I won't get Vista before August, so I'm counting on you!

I'll be eagerly waiting for the results of your experiment :) I didn't get Vista yet even though I said I would. It is just too unstable right now to be worth jumping over to. And by the way, are you testing TSK or TPR (or both?)?

Already used one vista computer on a LAN. KaM did work only multiplayer didnt work very good but thats normal on XP to so you could say it works on Vista.

First message on this forum. :)

Edit: (We used TPR not TSK)

Hey thanks a lot for this! I quite expected that The Peasants Rebellion would run without any trouble and luckily I was right. I just fear that The Shattered Kingdom will be far from working... :(

Go Linux

I agree completely. I use Linux and XP. (on two separate computers) I tried the TSK demo on linux and it works fine, but it runs kind of slow. (all though the computer I tried it on was an old P3 so maybe that's why...) Still, it is very playable. Linux is a great operating system and the world would be better if more people used it, but you have to have windows as that's what everyone else uses and what the programs are made for.

I agree as well. Linux is great, but has few programs; XP has many programs, and is OK on stability by now (it HAD the same issues Vista has now, though); Vista doesn't have that many programs(that run) AND is more unstable.

And it insults your intelligence with all these "are you really really sure?" warnings (if you turn them off, you get a constant nag in right-bottom of the screen, about how "unsafe" it is.. yea right..)

and that really IS anoying, screen turns black. nothing to be seen except a Warning message if you're really sure...
My brother likes Vista though, but I really cannot say why. I'll stick to XP, and skip Vista...

On Vista, check the compatibility mode and change to "Windows XP SP2" and check all the boxes. In game change resolution to 800x600. Enjoy.

The compability doesn't help anything at all as far as I'm concerned, but the using a smaller resolution does decrease the lag.
