capturing software

I don't know if is is allowed to post a subject like this in this section, correct me if i am wrong.
After playing kam remake multiplayer for a week now and getting the hang of it i got the idea of recording my matches and put it on youtube. the problem is that i cannot find a good capture software. i will immediatly tell that i am a cheapskate with capturing software and i have tried to use a few free recording programs the best i found was bandicam. But the problem with bandicam is that, even though it works fine on other games, with the kam remake all it records is slightly....red colored.

So if anyone has a good tip for me i would appreciate it.

Re: capturing software

Last time I heard Fraps was a commercal app. You could capture only quarter of your screen for free. Did that changed since 2009?

As far as i can recall you can only record for 30 seconds in the free version.

Thanks for the tip, i hope it will work better with screen recorder gold. After tinkering with bandicam for an hour i managed to get the recording going for about 10 minutes(then i had to start recording again). instead of using the hotkey(wich makes everything red) i actually had to alt tab out of the game and hit the record button myself and then get back into the game. anyway i am uploading part 3 of 3 of my first succesfull( read we won and no one dropped out to ruin the game) multiplayer match from a replay.

If i have time today i will try to use screen recorder this time.

Re: capturing software

Although I haven't tried their screen recorder, I've used many of their other programs (all free!).
You might want to take a look: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Screen-Video-Recorder.htm
It does come with a pop-up after exiting the program but this can easily be removed (with agreement of the programmers).
To do so, follow these steps:
1. After installation, go to "C:\Program Files\Common Files\DVDVideoSoft\" and delete the folder "TB" and "AskTB".
2. Then, open "C:\Program Files\Common Files\DVDVideoSoft\bin" and delete "SubscriptionOffer.exe".
(you'll have to redo these steps every time you install a new version)

If you're looking for a commercial program I can vouch for Camtasia Studio.

Re: capturing software

I belive you can use Camtasia also, dont really know the limitations of the free version tho.

Edit: Seems after a quick check that the only limitation is that you can use it for 30 days before you need to buy it.

MOD BREAK: Yes, it has to be legal. If not, it will not be discussed on this forum.

Re: capturing software

Yeah it should be legal. And i have paid for FPS ,so dont tell anyone that it is free.
The older versions (before 2004 or sth) were for free, but those version dont work with vista/7 i think.

Here is the last "LEGAL FREE" Fpr version(german page)[1.9d]:
http://www.chip.de/downloads/FRAPS-Letz ... 07435.html

But i have tested this version and have paid for FPS that i can make good movies :D
