For some reason, I love quotes. Always have. Whenever I see a quote, I try to take time to stop and read it.
Over the years, I've found a few quotes that I really like. Some were said by fictional characters (e.g. those from moves or books).
My favorite quote is, of course, the one in my signature. :)
There are several ways to look at it. It's funny, but also has great truth.

Go ahead and post your favorite quotes, too! Here is a list of mine:
Note: quotes by fictional characters are followed by the ~ symbol, with a name in parenthesis saying what book or movie it came from.

? "How you get so big; eating food of this kind?" ~ Yoda (The Empire Strikes Back)

? "I made a promise: 'Don't you leave him, Samwise Gamgee.' And I don't mean to." ~ Samwise Gamgee (Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring)

? "Live in the present, remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn't exist and never shall." ~ Saphira (Eldest)

? "Never judge your wife until you've walked a mile in her shoes, because then you'll be a mile away from her...and you'll have her shoes." - unknown

? "His name is Thorn, and a thorn he shall be to all his enemies." ~ Murtagh (Eldest)

? "Life is uncertain-- eat your dessert first." - unknown

? "Time, like love, is a tide. You were one with the sea as you were one with me." ~ Scarlette (Paper Mario: Thousand Year door)

I left out some patriotic ones; just to prevent a possible flame war

"Go ahead, make my day." - Harry Callahan (Sudden Impact, 1983)

"You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig." - (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, 1966)

"There are over 550 million firearms in worldwide circulation. That's one firearm for every twelve people on the planet. The only question is: How do we arm the other 11? " - Yuri Orlov (Lord of War, 2005)

"The world's biggest arms suppliers are the US, UK, Russia, France and China. They are also the five permanent members of the UN security council." - (Lord or War, 2005)

"A Lannister always pays his debts." - (Song of Ice and Fire, the best fantasy book series out there.)

There should definitely be more quotes from the Dirty Harry series. Prior to the one mentioned above:

Harry: "Well, we're not gonna just let you walk out of here."
Thief: "Who's 'we', sucka?"
Harry: "Smith, Weston, and me."

Also, some House quotes.

"I was curious, and seeing as how I'm not a cat - that's not dangerous."

This one's from Scrubs.

A little explanation before the quote:

JD asks Dr. Cox to give his interns a nice 'pep-talk'. Since Dr. Cox isn't very keen on doing this, he tells the interns the following:

"Each and every one of you is going to kill a patient. At some point during your residency, you will SCREW up, they WILL die and it will be BURNED into your conscience, FOREVER!"

When he said that, I laughed so hard I thought I was going to have a heart-attack! :P

Soldier: General, we are surrounded sir!
General: Excellent, now we can attack in each direction!

Mom: WHO ATE THE LAST CUPCAKE?!
One of the Children: Eh, mom, the question is what, not who.
Mom: Your dad again huh?

The problem with society is that violence is rated 12+ while love is 18+

Joe's son: Dad, I left the army, I deserted.
Everybody: Oh!
Chris: If you are thinking I am going to m**tur**t after this you are right!

Hookup: A civilian spaceship meant to found a colony for someone else.
Multiple hookups are called hookers, I don't know who invented the word.

I am the best option for Hookers. - Tuson, in a game called Warring Factions.

I once received a card with a quote from Seneca on it, thence it's my favorite quote. It tells a part of his twentieth letter. Although the text is printed in Hungarian, I'm trying to translate it to English:
Main purpose of wisdom, as well as the main proof for it is when acts and words hang together and when man remains the same wherever he ends up.
The second part of the statement means very much to me, as I always desired for an immunity against people trying to take deep effects on me wrapping it into a kind of misleading kindness. Until reaching this though, I can appear mistrustful even against harmless attempts to share opinions with me. :)
