1.6 patch obstinately resists to be installed

So I've been having a physical copy of the original 'Knights and Merchants: The Shattered Kingdom' since its release but haven't played it for ages and somehow the copy even got lost, aswell. But because I've been feeling the urge to have another round while really being too lazy to search for a copy that probably doesn't even work anymore (and also remembering it bringing a lot of graphical issues nonethless), I decided to give the GOG.com version a try since it's not only cheap but does also contain the 'The Peasants Rebellion' campaign I was not yet familiar with. At this point I've already been aware of the existence of the fanmade unofficial patch and was excitingly waiting to make use of it. I've got both the German version of the 1.58 GOG.com game aswell as the German version of the 1.6 patch.exe and everything went fine until it told me that I've apparently "not installed 'Knights and Merchants: The Peasants Rebellion' on this PC or in a language other than German", neither of those being true. I've tried copying the 'Knights and Merchants' folder somewhere else, then uninstalling the Game from GOG and deleting the folder in the 'Games' section of GOG and pasting the copied folder into the Programs(x86) section before implementing it into GOG by initializing it in GOG Galaxy (which went fine). Both now and after the first installation, I started the Game and ran the first mission before closing it and running the .exe file of the patch and both times I got the same message. I even spent a night on trying to figure out how to look into .exe files to extract the .batch files and import them into the games' folder in order to manually force-execute the program, but gave up when I brutally despaired on some Dutch website telling me how to use their
weird "innounp" language (that even to me as a programmer and MS DOS lover looked alien ) in order to fulfil my goal. And no, 7-zip does'nt support all .exe files, at least not this one. Is anyone willing to help? The thing is, I've heard that 'The Peasants Rebellion' runs quite unstable and glitchy without using the patch, so I guess I'll have to wait until my problem is solved before starting any of the campaigns . I scrolled through every forum entry I could find but there was only one person who had a similar problem but 1. with steam, 2. in Polish and he/she could solve the issue by reinstalling the game outside of steam. I also got that weird "innounp" thingy idea from this thread.
