have units with shield more armor against arrows (archers, crossbowmens)?

At the moment there are no special damage modifiers for arrows. Watchtower stones are intentionally powerful to instant-kill the strongest unit (if they don't miss of course).

I think about this.
This is natural to use shield when arrows arrive.

Have Axe Fighter (he have shield) more armor than Lance Carrier (only letter armor) ?

I just wanted to say that sometimes game balance is more important than what is natural. KaM TSK/TPR had no special armour bonus for shields, and there might have been a good reason for that. The original game was fun and played well, even if it's not perfectly balanced for multiplayer.

Another problem is that armour is in discrete levels: 1,2,3, and changing it would have a huge impact (the difference between being an axefighter and a swordfighter) That's just the way the combat formula works in KaM.

Nope, it's stored as 1 byte integers in units.dat

A bonus against arrows only for a shield would be dandy. Bow/Crossbows are already way too strong.
