kecske's map

Hi guys!
It is my first multiplayer map. I made some maps before, some singleplayer, and i tried to make multiplayer map too, but them all was'nt enough good for public. :)
I tried it make to be balanced. Every player have a small village with an inn, 2 fisherman on the beach, and 1 vineyard a bit far from the coast

Re: kecske's map

Looks very nice as i glance about (i envy it :D)
i don't have much time to look, but i'll give advice
º Make sure its well balanced (dont know how it is)
º Where three tiles meet, there are tiles that are wrong. Some of those can't be mended, and you should place an object to cover them, others can... Check out for these, i saw many.

Re: kecske's map

It's a nice map :)
A few little suggestions:
- Caykroyd is right, a lot of places the tiles don't meet nicely. At the top left the underwater part of the gold hill looks very square on the beach. Check your map for places which look artificial and square, then see if you can fix them. If not you can cover them with an object as he said. The little pond in the center also has this problem.
- Placing trees and large rocks on coal is very frustrating for players because it's hard to build mines. In KaM they didn't place trees on coal and I think it's better that way. You can put them around the edges or a few tiles away.
- You don't usually get ducks and lilies in the sea, you should only use fish, sea snakes and sea stars in my opinion.
- There is a hill I think you forgot to elevate all of, on the far right side half way up the map. Overall the elevation on this map is great.
- You can make the map look more interesting by using "special" grass tiles: 4 flowers, some rocks, cracked ground, dirt patch, brighter, etc. By default Krom's editor places these randomly, but if you use them in specific places it can look really nice: put the flower tiles in an area with some flower objects, put the rocks on grass tile near hills, make areas of the cracked tile. The Battle Tutorial is a perfect example of this, the bottom left area is full of cracked ground tiles, see how great that looks.

I'd like to include it with the Remake when it's finished :)
Lewin.

Re: kecske's map

Nice :) The grass tiles look great now.
Some things can still improve, but only minor tweaks:
- You can make your coal look nicer. Here is an example The Dark Lord made for another map: http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/6595/coal1.png The coal needs to begin faintly and get stronger/richer at the middle. When you have rich coal at the edge of the coalfield it looks bad. You need to use tiles to make it look like that, the terrain brushes don't give such a good effect.
- There is a small patch of water on the left side near the middle which flows in random directions.
- Some players can't see where their stone is at the start. I think the stone should be explored at the start. You need my mission editor to add map revealers (the Remake editor doesn't support them yet) so if you like I can do this when I add the map to the project.
- Take a look at this: http://i.imgur.com/ljmFR.jpg

Re: kecske's map

Very nice :)
I have added it to the Remake, (it will be included in the next release) but I made two minor fixes in the script
- Screens are centered on the player's storehouse at the start of the game
- The fisherman's hut in player 1's village was properly connected to the road
You can get the updated script here:

Thanks for your contribution :)

Re: kecske's map

Thank you very much for these maps. At the moment I download them all :) I'm looking forward to use all of them haha*
And I think it's amazing that you share them for free. I mean.. I'm not used to that! I'm used to pay for download, especially the good ones. I'm glad because I also got a flower voucher lately and it's always nice to use all the things which you've got!
