Re: Christmas Tournament!

This the first time I organize a tournament
and this is great! I was chatting with Koczis and he told me that Polish fans planed to make a tournament but they did not made it. So this is perfect - to make the tournament, and also it is maybe the first tournament of games with buildings (exept German points-legue) and international tournament! So I give respect to you, GWB! :D

Re: Christmas Tournament!

I think organising a tournament is very difficult and I think it's great that GWB has done it. There will always be problems, especially the first time. Lessons will be learnt and it will be run differently next time. (e.g. telling people they need to be contactable during certain dates might be a lesson from this one)
We really need a website or something for the tournament, a forum doesn't work well. If T*AnTi-V!RuZz reckons he can do better job then he should go for it. (after this tournament ends)

Everyone should have a bit more patience when things don't go smoothly, (it's the first time, and it's a hard thing to do) or when people don't reply because it's Christmas. (you didn't really specific when people needed to be available, so I wouldn't be too harsh in blaming them)

Re: Christmas Tournament!

Oh, the 1st Christmatch.
Well, then I will reserve myself for another ocassion.
Congratz Itlerion who earned 1 point. I feel happy for him. :P

Concerning GWB Rewarding System

I dont like it. There shouldnt extra points obtained by training +units, killing +units, etc.
Its kinda obvious that 80% of times the Player who Wins 1º, will also have those "statistics".
Another thing I complain is the overreward given to Winner. 5 pts? Dont expect competition then.

My Rewards for players of 1st Christmatch

3 *** for Lord_Stronghold
2 ** for Lucqu
1 * for Itlerion
0 for Kamycos

In 1v1 duels, the Winner will receive 1 point.
And with each extra Player ingame, the 1º place gives +1 point.
The places will be determined by order of leaving the Match (or being defeated).

Advice: To encourage inner competition, the rewarding system should simulate a numeric ladder.
Players will try to be at top (as seems reachable), without feeling dissapointed if they dont get 1º place.

Re: Christmas Tournament!

I made the mistake to award bonus points.
I don't think we played enough to make the decision impossible to turn around.
I will here by recall the idea of bonus points.
There will be no bonus points.

Re: Christmas Tournament!

*long story*
I think you're having a hard time reading the intention of my replies. I've never said organizing a tournament is easy, I think you just underestimated it. Besides, I don't really care what you think. I have a personal opinion, which means you have to deal with it.

As I've already said before, you're most welcome to organize a tournament, but then you should stop whining about me having some criticism. The best way for you to 'shut me up' would be to prove you can handle situations like this. It's a shame you didn't realize that, yourself.

Anyway, I'm still entering, but I have a very busy schedule. I can't do anything about that. Unless some people here, I have a very very busy life.

"We really need a website or something for the tournament"

I think that the special section of the forum will be enough. We have such section in KaMclub http://kamclub.ru/forum/30

Re: Christmas Tournament!

@T*AnTi-V!RuZz
I will summarize it for you:
You didn't give any arguments to support your criticism.
That I can't handle because I cannot learn how to improve from it.

I think we should close this and create a new, more organized tournament.
I do not like this. I don't want to give up and I don't think other participants want me to.
Unless GWB can organize the games better, because the way it is now, it's really hard to know what is going on, who's playing who, and when someone has to play.
The argument you give(because the way....has to play) is an effect to a cause.
I can try to fix the cause, but not the effect.
If you don't mention the cause, I cannot fix it.

I think the cause to the troubles organizing a match is that people don't respond.

Re: Christmas Tournament!

To start with: what about a nice tournament overview. For example: a spreadsheet, or a tournament sheet.

Re: Christmas Tournament!

Ladder Pointing (SOLO)
SCORE: In 1v1 duels, the Winner will receive 1 point. And with each extra Player ingame, the 1º Place gives +1 point.
With 1º Place Score, remaining Players receive -1 point according Places they obtained (by order of leaving/being defeated).

DRAW: Only possible AFTER having played at least WT60 (WarTime mins) and IF match is really stuck (unbreakable defenses).
Remaining Places will be defined by 1 Statistic: Units defeated-> which considers enemy Citizens & Troops you killed.

Re: Christmas Tournament!

BTW Bear, when other players will play in others matches of ROUND 1, and should I wait results of those games or I can play in next ROUND and no waiting them? I mean if I will talk with the guys who will fight with me in next round -> report to you about design of time and map-> and play with them when the other guys did not played the 1st round matches -> so will this result be accepted or you will decline it?

You can play other matches, but if we want to maintain control I wouldn't play too many.

Re: Christmas Tournament!

and what about other games of round 1? when will they start.
----------------------
however I wanna speak about my next match. The partisipants are:
1 GreatWhiteBear
2 Pawel
7 Lord Stronghold
8 Itlerion
9 Kamykos
10 Czentovic

so when does this match starts and how many players (and which players) in this list will take a part in them? I mean in the first game 2 guys did not play, and what about this one? will you accept result if we will have 4 players in this (for example 2,7,8,9)?
