I agree with Jeronimo in that the tournament should be less structured. It's very very hard to organise people to turn up to specified games with certain players.
You could organise a tournament where people should meet in the chat room at an appointed time with the aim of playing some matches, and then analysing the results later. That way it doesn't matter if some people don't turn up. Obviously if you miss too many matches you will be disqualified (you need a minimum number of games played to be counted) but there shouldn't be rigid times with fixes matches to be played, people can have last minute things happen which means they can't make it. As long as they come next time and play some matches it's not a problem.
When a match is completed, (with only registered tournament players) post the results here and they can be used to create a ladder by the organiser. (GWB) Sure, that's not as nice as fixed matches and rounds, but I think it's the best we can do.
I'm not part of the competition, I just wanted to say my opinion
Also this can be an unrelated competition if GWB doesn't like the idea. I think he did a good job of organising this one, it's just too hard to get people to turn up at fixed times. (maybe that could work in a smaller competition with "well known" people)
