OpenAL cannot be initalized

Today, I got a message that said, "OpenAL cannot be initalized, refer to readme.txt for help." Somethink like that anyway. I didn't see a readme.txt so I am asking for help here :P
When I get this message, the game plays without sound (although music works fine.) Can someone help me?

Maybe a stupid suggestion, but: did you run the OpenAL driver installation? :P

As far as I know, OpenAL renders the sounds in KaM Remake. There should be a setup somewhere in the KaM Remake folder (aolsetup.exe).

Try finding it. Double-clicking it should be enough.

I recently installed the game on a usb stick and can now play the game wherever I like.(At school(only editting))
but... Skyrim is out so I'll be way less active with kam than I was due to personal business.
But I don't think there is a such big need for 8player maps so I won't be needed, enjoy the northern province!

That is totally off topic, but oh well.
My brother just got Skyrim, but I doubt that it can/will steal my heart of this comunity.

Our installer should ask whether you want OpenAL installed, and you should click yes. The option won't appear if you already have it installed.
But if you copy the Remake to another computer you can run oainst.exe from the Remake folder and that'll do the trick.

Our readme file is not Readme.txt, it is Readme_eng.html
And yes, OpenAL is the library we use for sounds. It allows us to play many sounds at once at 3D positions and then tell it where the "listener" is, and it calculates the volume, stereo pan, Doppler effect, etc. automatically and plays the sound. Of course we have Doppler disabled because that would be quite weird :D
Cheers,
Lewin.

As stated, I copied the Remake from my brother's laptop to my mother's laptop; thus my problem.

I can't see where you stated that, I'm guessing you forgot. But I figured that was the case :)

I meant what you stated, my friend:
But if you copy the Remake to another computer...
See?

Well more maps would always be great aswe still only have a few 8 player maps, and 8 players is the most fun IMO. But take as much of a break as you like!

@Ben: Yes I see now :)
