Mission 20 Strategy

I've been searching for about an hour & I have not found a thread with a strategy for level 20. I can't seem to find a good start up strategy. The enemy comes from 3 directions & once the attack is over, they send horsemen to attack the2-3 buildings I just built! If anyone has any ACTUAL good tips on how to start up, please let me know! Thanks!!

BTW - I found "The Gauntlet" remake of map 20. Is that worth checking out? if so, can I play it just by finishing level 19 & going onto level 20? Or would I have to start the whole campaign over again?

I never liked the Gauntlet. The map is really messed up, but that is not the maker's fault.

As for strategy...IDK. Since iron is so close, just concentrate on making iron units before making food. Or just skip bread and go to sausage (for skins)

Since you have so much stone, watch towers are very useful.

My strategy was always to build LOTS of towers and lure the enemy into them
