SR2 removes text from buttons

Hey, thanks for setting up this site and the forum. Looks great!

Here's my problem - when I install Service Release 2, all the buttons on the main menu and in-game have their text completely deleted. This also happens to the in-game descriptions that you get when you hover the pointer over items in the build menu. I can't even tell if it patches properly, because there's no text in the top right corner of the main menu!

I've tried saving the old, 1.54 setup.lib and text.lib from the data\misc folder, then copying them back into place after the SR2 patch, but still no text.

Also, if I apply the English translation (ELP3) from this site into the data\misc folder but leave it unpatched (1.54), then I still get text on the buttons and hovering, but it's crazy characters. I don't mean another language; it's got a lot of "::nK..." stuff in the menu and a bunch of exclamation points when hovering.

What am I doing wrong?

I had the same problem when installing English patch over German version of the game. What solved the case - I obtained Polish version and English patch installed on-top of it just well

Yeah, Krom said it. You are using the wrong languange patch for your game! If you have version 1.54 I bet it it's the Dutch version of the game so install the Dutch SR2. If you patched the game to get it into version 1.54 then it is probably the Russian version, and a SR2 patch has not been made for it (unfortuantely).

i use english version, is there a new patch for that? any patch at all for it?
all i could find was the german one and it doesnt work gives me some german cd thingy. i didnt translate it but i believe its telling me its not the right cd

The newest patch available for TSK is 1.32. You can see your game version in the upper right (or left?) corner in the main menu.

ja i have 1.3 but my 1.32 patch doesnt work. so i am just staying with 1.3


when i use hamachi "i posted this in hamachi topic" it asks me for a network name. what name do we use for here?
