Well anyway, I made a native version (no .NET) in C, for anyone interested, it's here:
http://www.freewebs.com/knightsandmerchants/downloads/Map2Pro.exe

And I certainly hope I never have to do anything like that again.. darn that was painful. And darn MicroSoft for giving command line arguments as an array of pointers to things called _TCHAR and WCHAR_T and can't seem to choose between the two - when all you need is an array of pointers to chars. Normal chars. All C functions work on normal chars.

That means that it is working fine.

You see, Map2Pro doesn't have a GUI. You must drag a .map file onto the map2pro.exe file, and it will do the conversion.
Then a pro file of the same name will appear in that directory.

Open that file in Krom's editor using the Open PRO button. You can then edit and save it as normal.

I'm sorry but I don't uderstand what you mean. Do I have to drag it into the black box? Becasue if I do have to do that (and I doubt I do) then it is impossible because it appears for only a seconed.[/quote]

No, not in the black box. You don't have to do anything with map2pro.exe. Just drag it onto the .exe file, as Lewin said (the icon).
Like you click twice at the Knights and Merchants .exe file to start it, you now drag your map file onto it (but then the map2pro.exe of course).

Right-clicking the .map file and selecting "open with...", then selecting the map2pro.exe in the dialog will work too.

Or you could do it the old fashioned way: running from a command prompt.
But I wouldn't really recommend that, it's more work and the only benefit is that you get to see the error messages.
