Hey, is there any way of easily changing the colours in the campaigns? just for the original user team (i.e. player 1), as i'm just a bit bored of the red all the time :P

doesn't matter if you can't without, just wondering =]

Download my editor from here:
http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/index.php?go=knights_and_merchants_editor_download

Open the file that you want to change. mission#.dat are TSK, dmission#.dat are TPR.

Then look under Player Options for the human team, and edit the team color and mini-map color. Save the mission and play it.

You might notice a few other AI differences because my editor will move things around a little bit, but it should stay pretty much the same.
Lewin.

or you could also try it with my editor, although lewin's is probably easier to work with if you just want to change the color.

Yes there is a way, like the others said, KaMMissionEdit-0.2. That's what I'm using, and others, I guess.

Do you know that 0.2 is an old version? KaMMissionEdit-0.8.5 is the latest, and has improved a lot since 0.2. You can download it here:
http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/index.php?go=knights_and_merchants_editor_download

Although if you want it to be script (rather than graphical) then 0.2 is what you must use. I was thinking of making of making an updated, script only version for people who don't want to use the tree view. But that will be after 1.0 I think.
Lewin.

Oh, thanks for the information, Lewin! I didn't know there is a new version, I downloaded the 0.2 version and it's helping me only with Color changing, it's just what I need.

Can you change the color to purple? I'm not sure if you can only use colors your enemies already have. I don't want to go through all the work trying since I can just ask you guys first.

Thanks again everyone! You guys are great! :D

How do I open the files? I tried opening with notepad and then with word. I got a bunch of symbols.

By the way, I went to the mission files when I tried this.

Thanks in advance.

Merry Christmas to all!

Use a mission editor:
- Lewin's one (0.8.5) if you want an easy to use graphical UI
- Harold's one or older version of Lewin's (0.2) editor if you want only script mode
Both can be found here:

Okay, it's not even 2 minutes after I posted the previous post. I think I answered my own question. No yelling at me please...LOL I'm pulling up Lewin's editor right now. Hopefully that's what I was missing the first time I tried.

I did it!!!! Yippie. I'm so excited. It makes me want to play all of the boards again.

Okay, next question. The games that I download from Lewin's site, do I do the color change thing the same way? I'm assuming that after I download the games it will change the color back to red. Anyone know?

This editor thing opens up a whole new world for me...LOL I've built roller coaster parks on the tycoon series. Is it somthing like that? I guess you'd need to know how to make the enemies attack. Anyway, maybe some day you guys will be playing a map that I made.

You can change the colour in the same way. The human player's colour in the downloaded mission doesn't have to be red - it depends how was it made by the author.[/quote]
