Take mission 6 for example where you face a loooot of enemies and making barbarians could be useful. I understand there is a problem with it in multiplayer but why is it missing from singleplayer?

So there are many arguments both against and for the town hall. You could spend (waste) a lot of time on the forum reading the discussions; however, the real reason is because the developers don't like it As seen here.

You also forgot to mention the remake was mainly meant as tsk remake, not tpr.
