The tutorial has been perfected!

Update: Tutorial has taken a new direction entirely, see below.

Old stuff
I never really liked the way the tutorial was set up in The Peasants Rebellion. It fell kind of short to the one in the demo of The Shattered Kingdom, so I tried my hand at fixing it in the last beta.
The changes there however, were just merely removing a message and rewording another one which caused some problems. In order to win you had to construct a swine farm, a butcher's and a tannery, but this was never mentioned in messages potentially making the player think the mission would be winnable.

Well, I spent many good hours today trying to crack down where all this information about the tutorial actually was stored. To my surprise I found it after only a few minutes search and the way the data was stored was extremely easy to understand. So how does this help the patch?

What I did was to merge two of the messages that are sent at the start of the tutorial into the tutorial code. As for the third message, it is now displayed after you construct the school house exactly like it did back in The Shattered Kingdom :). Finally, I also removed the requirements to construct a swine farm, a butcher's and a tannery in order to complete the tutorial.
Now it's pretty close to perfection! :)

Well judging by your recent discovery, I guess it's time to start writing messages for each of the stuff. We do need a build order list though. What about
1. School
2. Inn
3. Quarry
4. Woodcutter's
5. Sawmill
6. Fisherman's hut
7. Farm
8. Mill
9. Bakery
10. Vineyard
11. Swine farm
12. Butcher's
13. Barracks
14. Weapons workshop
15. Tannery
16. Armory workshop

Would be heaps of messages, but then again the tutorial would be a lot better this way.

You could group some together, i.e. "build a farm, mill and bakery to make bread for the inn."

I think that it should explain every building separately. That is what tutorials in other games normally do, and besides, there is more detail needed such as how many fields to build etc. If we can do as many as we like (that is my new discovery) then I believe we should explain the lot in as much detail as we can. Assuming the player knows what to do is a bad idea...

Thought I'd report, just played through the tutorial again and it did not crash. The previous crash was a bit worrying though but it could have been something completely different as my comp was acting quite strange yesterday for whatever reason.
