So I played K&M earlier with no problems and after leaving the game for a few minutes I came back to find the screen had frozen and the sound was off.

I have since tried to play the game and every time it goes to load, the screen goes blank and then goes back to desktop with nothing happening

This has never happened before and I have made no changes to my PC what so ever. Like I said the game worked fine earlier

I am on Windows 8 and playing the K&M remake

Could be GPU drivers fault. Try updating them.
Could be hardware fault. Check that CPU/GPU do not overheat.
