Hey guys,

new here, love the game, love the remake... except whenever I want to start a new campaign (TSK) I start with lvl 20 A.K.A the last level. And when I load a game and do the victory cheat, in whatever level I load the game, I again get placed in lvl 20. Somebody knows whats up with that? Or should I just re install the game completely.

Hope you guys can help:)

Click the flags from the campaigns overworld map. To play mission 1, click the flag that represents mission 1 and so on.

Don't feel dumb at all! It's not integrated into the interface at all so it's hard to figure out on your own ;)

Ben: (From here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=853&p=36006&hilit=#p36006) I noticed probably bug in RMK editor. I cannot set Victory or lost Conditions. Everytime i set it and saving file, after load they are deleted and have info: lost/victory goals are deprecated! Use script instead!"

I using winter Beta. And my Human player is set as player 4. Also used all 12 possible players.

I Cannot finish mission because this ;/
Thanks for the bug report, I put it on the todo list.

I've put it on the todo list to add a hint about this somewhere. The map screen doesn't have much free space so it will probably be on the campaign selection screen.

Maybe a button in Options or campaigns screen - to reset progress.

But that doesn't notify a player that he is able to play any mission by clicking the flags. :l

@Ben: How do you suggest to notify player about that? iirc we highlight flags as cursor moves above them. What else could we do?

I've been thinking of it a lot, but I really don't know. Age of Kings had a UI, but there was no "start mission" button and mission intros were played after the mission was selected (I can make a video of it if you don't have AoK) However, I don't think this would suit KaM. Maybe a caption between the "Back to Menu" and "Start Mission" buttons? Something that says something along the lines of "Click flags to replay previous missions."

While discussing this, something that has bothered me for a really long time is how the "objectives scroll" moves after mouse-over. This is really annoying. I mean REALLY annoying! It makes my skin crawl and teeth itch like something terrible...anyway I digress. I've noticed that the scroll looks a lot like the chat scroll. I think a much better solution would be to have similar buttons as the chat scroll. That is, it would have a minimize button, to hide the scroll completely. Not only is this a much smoother interface, it would also enable the user to see the entire campaign map at once.

PErhaps we should just revert to KaM style and stick the scroll to one of the corners (depending on current mission flag location).

"Click flags to replay previous missions" sounds like a very poor UI solution. It's not such a big deal to explain to someone once in 3 years that they can click flags to select previous missions.

I like Ben's idea about minimizing scroll by using buttons similar to chat buttons. I'd like to see whole campaign map without scroll floating around or covering some part of the map.

About possibility to select any previous mission: Small notification in campaign selection screen (under a map and campaign's description maybe) would be okay, it won't affect UI that much.

I agree, but I was just trying to brainstorm ;)

Oh, and please don't revert back to original way with the scroll's position: That's less "annoying" than now, I guess, but it still isn't nice because you can't see the whole map! :)

Seeing whole map is hardly a goal of its own

Why not? I see no reason why it shouldn't be. An artist may spend a lot of time making one of those maps, and he should have the ability to show the map in all its grandeur to his audience. It also isn't unreasonable to assume that many players would like to see the whole map, too. I know for certain that I, in my blissful youth, was thrilled to see the remains of the TSK map after completing mission 13.

I agree, the scroll moving from left to right and back is really annoying. I don't care how this gets fixed though.
