Hi,
Why are the colours of the original game different of the colours of the remake? (red is an other red and black is much darker for example)
I know it isn't that importent but I just want to know :P

Actually, black was much darker in the original game. The original campaigns didn't use black, they used gray. Compare The New Land's color of black to the black in the Remake and you'll see that the original is much darker ;)

But as for your question, the reason the colors are different is because the original game used many less "shades" of colors. I think it had 256, but I am not sure. The Remake has over 16,000,000. The original game used about 6 different values from the available colors on their palette. I don't know how many values the Remake uses, or even how the coloring/shading works altogether, but it's clear that it has a much bigger spectrum to choose from.

And hopefully that gives you an idea. Really, it's the same reason the terrain looks so much better in the Remake: More colors to choose from = better shading and better visuals.

Flag colors in Remake are different due to rendering method. In KAM that was 256 color palette and you got on screen colors from it, no more, no less (higher brightness just used a different brighter palette) Flag colors were combined by palette swaps. Now in Remake we can use the same palette colors, but we cant swap them that easily (cos all the rendering in now on GPU and swapping colors would be too slow (prepare new texture and sending it to GPU for each flag color)). Secondly due to that we use slightly different color shading technique (explained here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... nt_count=1) which results in a less saturated colors, but allows wider range of them.

Ah a smart guy :D Me as a lovely SP Fan, also noticed that and while I watched tsk 20 for example and wanted to fix it for the remake, I wasn´t sure if I shouldn´t change it to grey  but then I thought NAAAAH, the mapcolor of those grey knights is also black in tsk, and black as the final boss enemy looks way color than grey in my opinion :D
