Good evening guys,

I need some help over here; how am i able to play kam on windows 8? i searched it on the web but couldn't understand the used methods, like hyper v or using double os.

I would love to play the game, which i haven't played for over 8 years now, again. I need someone who is kind enough to help me by setting up a step-by-step guide.

* i dont even have kam on my computer. tried to download it through torrent but couldn't download it on 8.
* i dont have hyper v on this windows 8; its not the ultimate version.

thanks in advance! :D

Lol, Hyper-V is a hypervisor. Kind of 'bringing the big guns'.. You don't need that.

What you need is to buy KaM here: http://www.gog.com/game/knights_and_mer ... 38107a1f1b
It's only $5,99 and it works on Windows 8.

Then download KaM Remake: http://www.kamremake.com to play online

We're not giving anything. Anyone giving away their KaM gets a ban. I'm done with these sorts of shady things.

Originally, KaM TSK/TPR wasn't designed to work on newer versions of Windows. The GOG.com version is, but they like to get paid for the work they did to provide that compatibility. I don't see a problem with that.

I agree with Skypeer's saying that it is "idiot" (maybe not idiot, but still) to have to pay twice for the same game. However, this

is also a very good point. Also, GOG.com is very cheap, so it really shouldn't hurt too much for give them a few dollars....espically if you buy via one of our links :D ;)

Hmm actualy I am really interesting in that now and think I´ll get a computer from my fried with windows 8, just to look if it´s really impossible to play with the "normal TPR". I am playing it on win 7 without problems and I wouldn´t be sure if I would buy it a 2nd(even 3rd time (with tsk)) to have that compatibility. There must be a way to play it with some settings or even the Win Xp mode which costs 0€, but I will see.

I'm quite surprised at these reports with TPR not working on Windows 8. It works perfectly for me. As a matter of fact I don't even need the GOG.com fix to make it work just fine on my computer.

With or without the ddraw fix?

It works perfectly fine without the ddraw fix. No lag, no palette corruption. Works just fine.
