My version of the game is unplayable because of the extreme mouse lag.
I play on a Macbook Air Running OS X 10.8.4

Do you mac users have the same problem? Or do you know a solution

I know your problem, everyone who KaM play on the mac from the appstore have the same problem, me too.
Because nobody does anything about it, so a tip for you; play the Remake on another computer!

Well I've nothing to brag about my user experience with Mac, but you may try looking into Wine. Wine on Linux runs KaM very well, so maybe it will have similar success on Mac.

I'd even advise to try out PlayOnMac, its PlayOnLinux counterpart is quite handy for me on Linux (even if I don't need it to run Remake on Wine). This program automates running Windows games/software on Wine, just install TPR then Remake inside it.

Yes Ben is right, it should work under Wine (Windows Emulator). Programs like WineSkin or WineBottler (Google them) that are designed specifically for Mac might make it easier

EDIT: Sado's solution is probably better, I don't have as much experience with using Wine as he does.
