On the Dutch forum is a new town builder in production. You should have a look at it. There is now a version available, you should first read the help file of it.
Edit: Sorry forgot

You should put the download-link here!
I've tested it or TRIED it, but the map is always to small/to big.
I hope Thunderwolf could include map-loading, because taking a screenshot and resizing is very difficult. Anyway, if I got enough time, i'll try out it a little bit more

?: Just found out what I have to do :D Great! Just takes lot of time making a screenshot and resize it and and and.... :D

Good!

This is quite useful! :D Does he say what programing language he is using?
Litude: you should put this in the tools section.
If you use it to make the village then paste the code into my editor you can make missions quite well! :) My GUI is still quite a long way away.
The way I have programed my GUI at the moment I can make it save the map to a bitmap easily. Merchant_992, could you ask him if he would like me the make a tool to do this, it would not take me long. This means you would not have to take a screenshot of the map editor, which is difficult. I could make it so you run "MapToBitmap.exe <MapFile> <OutputBitmap> <SizeOfTilesInPixels>", and he could make his program use this. It might also be useful for other people trying to make editors.
Other problems with it:
- It only works on small maps. ie. You can't place a building at 100 143
- The menu is hard to use. I think it should be a main menu or buttons or something, pressing F8 to save etc. is difficult.
- Removing buildings doesn't work very well
- It can't read data from a mission file and display the village.
Not that I am complaining, I know how difficalt it is to make a complicated program.

Haven't tried it yet but I gotta say I just SOO hate installers :D Sounds quite bad that you can't use it to create towns for big maps, but I guess it's an early preview version :D
The tool can now be found from the downloads section. It has not yet been added to the tools section as I have plans to do some changes to that section.

He would like such a program, because the screenshots doesn't work very well.

Version 0.8 is almost finished now. A temporarily v0.8 is available now.

There is no changelog given yet. I only know that there is a scriptpacker now. Don't know yet exactly what it does.

Ok, I have made Map2Bitmap.
You can get it for 16X16 tiles here: (this is what thunderwolf uses)
http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/downloads/map2bitmap-0.6-16.zip Edit: Updated to 0.6
Or 40X40 tiles here: (for other people making editors)
http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/downloads/map2bitmap-0.6-40.zipEdit: Updated to 0.6
Read the readme for how to use it.
If you would like another tile size please tell me.
Hope this helps!
Lewin.

oh, there 's a topic about my editor :D

just wanted to tell you : version 0.9c is out now. it includes a new version of scriptpacker (whhich is used to take out the duplicate lines of code) and mapfiler, which is generally a gui-type program which executes map2bitmap to make using it easier...

0.8 included the scriptpacker v1 and improved coding a bit.
0.9c scriptpacker v2, mapfiler and creating groups.(units)

oops can't post link as guest, check the later posts of the dutch forum (topic stadbouwer) voor de link.

Hi,
Here is the link Thunderwolf was unable to post:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=5N2P5OD0
This version is very good, I will have to program faster or he will overtake me!
@Thunderwolf: You could just find an old topic somewhere on the forum and spam your 5 posts there, I don't think anyone will mind. Litude, (the administrator) said to me that he would like to remove that setting if possible but he can't with the atfreeforum.com provider.

I'm now back onto working on my editor, (it is a hack since i don't have the license written down, work goes slower, since the hack only works every once in 5 times starting up) but i will continue.
