Hey there,

I hope it is good enougth, if not I will make it again.

New Version with body, too(but I think I have to animate the legs):
Funny picture with all pics fading out:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(And if you are interested here is another try of me to cut a palm(but too bad for the game at this moment(still working on it)
))
http://www.mediafire.com/download/isssl ... alm_01.wmv
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is working like that:
5 Images to move down
the same to move up again
and two variations to hold it only with one hand for the beginning and the end.
(When you are watching the video, don't take a look at the time, this is only a test with movie maker, to let you be able to see something

)

i like it

not yet ready i think but, it would be a nice improvement if the palm works
because we can make tropic maps then

Stonemason cutting from side looks promising, however it needs much better presentation, maybe a GIF or a real-game video.
I doubt we will ever use cut palms, because they are known uncuttable objects. Maybe you could do a tall pine tree cut instead? It really lacks one ..

Personally, I don't think that the tall pine trees should be cut. Maybe if we can plant them also, but some mapmakers like using the tall pines to hide certain tile transitions. However, being able to plant this pine tree would be nice addition to the pine forests.
On the other hand, I actually think that cutting palm trees might be nice. Right now, we have only one/two cutable trees that look good in the desert. With some modifications to maps, I think that having palm trees cutable is at least worthy of consideration. The best thing is if we can get more savanna trees but that's making an entire new animation.

But cutting palms would destroy the gameplay on Welcome to the Jungle!

It's such a masterpiece of trolling that Florek did there... avoiding/deleting palms just to make a very minimal and crappy city, there's just no other maps like that, which are actively trying to make player's city as bad as it's possible.
(Well... the above is kind of a joke, but still I love that map and its obstacles much.) I have to admit though, desert maps would benefit from cuttable/plantable palms.

Thanks for the comments!
Hm, maybe I can draw a new sort of palm, to cut it down and plant it.

Than the old ones work like before, but there would be a new one, for these tropic maps.

omg people! Why you make a problem where it does not? Trees are made to be cut! As far as I know, Robinso Crusoe it's not planted these trees, but cutting down. Ancient civilizations also cutted palm trees. When I read statements that trees covered bad tiles, it makes me sick ... Amend your tiles manually and no problem. When it was not possible to cut down trees, you did the problem, and how it is possible that again wrong? eeehhh.

Btw Dreamkiller respect for you

When three terrain types meet (such as rivers or mountains), there are no transitional tiles to work for that. Mountains can be worked around, but it's impossible in most cases with rivers.

Ben, what type of tiles exactly do you mean? I somehow do not have this problem in my maps ...

I use the tree trick for some transitions too, if the tree was made cuttable, people would see thing they should not see and will most likely have nightmares :p

In the first post, Dreamkiller mentioned something about palm cutting even though the topic's name suggests otherwise
