Things that you always wanted to know but never dared to ask

I start with a question to Krom: why do you so often write a closing bracket at the end of your sentences? )

I heard that on russian keyboards it's hard to do " : ", so it's just like if he did :)

I always wanted to know this, too! Lol!! I don't know if there are any other such questions that I can think of that fit in this topic, but I'll surely come here if I remember!

P.S., that is not a bracket. That is a parenthesis ;)

bracket -> [] parentheses -> ()

Parentheses are still brackets, either name fine. To me brackets refers to ( ). [ ] are usual called square brackets. < > are angle brackets and { } are braces or curly brackets.

Hmm. Never heard the term applied to parentheses in my math classes, but then again, maybe that was just my text books :)

Because typing ) is a bit easier and the carried meaning is the same. Also if you think of :) as a face then you need a nose too :-) and then maybe some hair {:-) then you also need a baseball cap and a neck d{:-)> ... there's just no end xD so in the end ) is just an overly optimized d{:-)>

Re: Things that you always wanted to know but never dared to

I have a question, actually. I see a lot of people on this fourm/community that put a blankspace between the last letter of a sentence and the exclamation point. For example: You did a good job !

What's up with that? :P

Good question ! What's worse , IMO , is when they do it with all forms of punctuation . Don't you hate it when people do that ?

Re: Things that you always wanted to know but never dared to

Well, in French typology, and surely other languages, we put a space before a : or a !
But not before a, how odd ! We just have the perfect balance (ehm).

In my humble opinion the following looks bad (or maybe I just learnt not to do that at school) :
Hey:
go!
