AI attacks in "one row"

Hello guys,

I wanna ask you now about a nice idea. This thing also doesn´t work really in Tsk and in Tpr.
So maybe it´s time to change it :D

The problem:

In like all missions the attack of the AI´s is that much less effective, because when the starting point is to far away, they just arrive to the enemy in one BIG ROW. You know what I mean.
So its way easier to kill his whole army 1 by 1 troop.

When the AI would just make some breaks of "reordering/regrouping" it would be possible maybe, that the AI would just attack right grouped like a normal human player in AI. So not in one row, but nice splitted up into 3x4 xbows;4x5 axes.... So the attacks would be just nicer instead of this one big row.

Would be this possible to implement maybe (in later development)?

Re: AI attacks in "one row"

I think that has to do with mission scripting, doesn't it? The mission scripts order the troops to go from A to B. Maybe it'd be an idea to change that, but that would require changing all the scripts for the missions in all the campaigns.
Nice coffee is always nice.

Re: AI attacks in "one row"

That has nothing to do with mission scripting. That is a group pathfinding flaw. Would be nice to fix it, but without changing unit movement from tile-based to free (like in modern RTS) it won't work out. And changing that is a huge amount of work.
