Hi, I've recently seen some videos of people using diagonal roads. Does this stll work though? It kind of looks ugly. Sorry if this has been asked before!

Diagonal roads worked in KaM TSK/TPR, but they don't in the Remake, unless another route exists (this is more of a technical limitation). More detail here:

Although I cannot provide any evidence there was an occurrence where a diagonal road was working in an online game I was playing. I have a buddy on Skype that I could ask to back me up if need be. Serfs were casually using it to transport various goods to and from buildings.

Barbarian, check lewin' link ;). You probably had one normal road to it as well.

Well, with my case it was a completely different scenario. There was another road that wound around over stone mountains and ended up connecting at some point in another part of the village but it wasn't a matter of a road that was placed prior to a building being built over it.

There was another road that wound around over stone mountains and ended up connecting at some point in another part of the village
So the road over the stone mountains was the other route, hence the diagonal road worked. It doesn't matter how long the other route is, as long it is already connected up to the same road network somewhere they will use the diagonal road.

Ah okay. I just misinterpreted that. Thanks!
