Linux KaM

I made a new topic for this, to prevent filling that other topic with rubbish...

I have my Fedora machine running right now, that's where I have the beta for the Linux KaM... Only I couldn't get it working...

The file, however, is a staggering 422,7 MB... I thought it was a bit smaller, so I can't send it by e-mail

If anyone really want it, I'll have to upload it to an ftp account...

I really want it!!! Hey c'mon :). No seriously, if you find a method to upload it, go for it! Things like these shall not be lost in time (which unfortunately happened to too many interesting official kam files...). If you find a method to upload it, I'll try to rehost it somehow...

Well I have the recources for it, (uploading I mean), but I don't want to keep it on my server too long. I can upload the program, and when you have it, then I'll remove it.

Alright, in that case, i'll do it... (Didn't heared of you anymore, and I'm not spending a day on uploading, when nobody wants it)...

I'll only have to find a ftp client that works on Linux, but that shouldn't be that hard...

When I have it on a server I let you know.

Why don't you use bittorrent? it is much faster than downloading from ftp.

No BitTorrent is not actually illegal, what makes it illegal is if you distribute copyrighted commercial material without permission. That is not the case however, so hugo could do it by Torrent if he so wants to.

It's not much faster if there's only one seed.

It's illegal same way mp3 is illegal
It all depends on content, not on mechanism.

In the Netherlands downloading 'illegal' software isn't illegal. Uploading is.

But when I use a torrent I have to leave my computer on, isn't it? But with ftp I can cut the connection off after uploading (I have my own VDS..), so that's a lot more interesting.

Unless I'm mistaking about the torrents, it will be ftp. I'll when I have time to upload (school things, you know...)

Yes, that's how torrents work. There must be someone seeding the file.

by what i know is that there are leechers(people who have a part of hte file) peers(downloaders) and seeders(people who have all of the files) so if we all becaome seeders it will be faster to download
