Town Hall

I know it was removed from multiplayer because it doesnt fit the KaM style..

But I miss it and the unique units it provided, maybe bring it back but needs 25% more gold and also needs a recruit for a unit.

It was MEANT to be an easy way to make an army if you were being overwhelmed..

Re: Town Hall

The problem in this assumption with TH is that if you are being overwhelmed by the enemy, the enemy has the same access to TH to overwhelm you a lot more.

TH affects games balance, and so far we have enough problems with existing troops balance, spare the TH. )

Re: Town Hall

You'll need lots of TH to provide a decent army when you are overwhelmed. Also gold is really valuable and you don't get that much for your gold when you use the TH.

Re: Town Hall

Here's quote from our FAQ section (http://www.kamremake.com/faq/)
Q: Why did you remove the town hall?
We think it is “cheating” and doesn’t fit the game style. In KaM you have to make a complex economy to produce anything. (e.g. there are 4 processing steps to make leather armour) The town hall allows you to make an army with only one resource and a handful of buildings. We don’t think that fits into the KaM style.
Later in development we might consider adding it back into the game redesigned.

Re: Town Hall

Totally agree with Krom's last comment. The town hall ruined many great aspects of KaM. One that I personally feel that it ruined was that I think barbarians lost the impression they once gave. They just weren't special anymore.
The town hall just doesn't suit well with KaM, but neither does the marketplace, but I like it... perhaps because it is nice that a player can no longer run out of gold or stone (the only two resources that are nonrenewable and essential). I haven't played online lately so my opinion on the market is an old one. It might change depending on how I see it used...

Re: Town Hall

i just think many people,me included would love to see the troops in the townhall make an appearance in mp.more troop variety if properly balanced is a great thing.

but since just paying gold to get army feels a little against the kamspirit it would need a complete overhaul and likely be pretty hard to get a good balance goin.

if someone manages to bring these troops back in a positive way they will get a big toverhug tho ;)

I love the Townhall(+sieqe shop) also. However you must understand that the townhall like it is NOW, will never fit in multiplayer game, like we play nearly each day :D
Like Krom said, there are more important things, like gameplay balances. Also I must understood this thing :D
You can build TH and build 50 barbars and only making gold/food...and you will win. Because in that time that you will make 10 barbars, a good player will make maybe 2 swordmen(because you can start earlier making TH troops)

We were discusing already about such ideas in the community, like TH after PeaceTime or with other systems, not the paying with gold...

Re: Town Hall

Sorry for (very) late post.

Couldn't TH be brought back redesigned though, needing more gold for example, aswell a new resource maybe and, as I said a recruit for every unit?

I thought the concept of the TH was great.

Re: Town Hall

The townhall is being discussed to death, it is not going to happen.

I do like to see some tpr units back like the rebel vagabond and the rogue. but even then it will often have only a singleplayer use. barbarians might be added with something special, but not in multiplayer imo. and do not get me started about siege engines

Re: Town Hall

I'm also doubting that the townhall will ever be used. Also note that Krom has stated many times that he has no intentions on making barbarians trainable.
