Kam team speak server

Hi there.

I was thinking, why isn't there a Kam team speak server?
When having vocal chat communication with your team is way easier and better,.
Yes you can always add people on skype but you can't, and you don't want, to add everyone.
So if there was a kam team speak (or mumble) teams could just join eachother on team speak and communicate this way.

So what do you think about this idea? :)

Re: Kam team speak server

I think it's an awesome idea and someone should set one up :)
I'd certainly help promote it. The best games I've played were while skype calling the other guy on my team, it makes teamwork really good.

Re: Kam team speak server

Well thanks a lot!
And indeed, skype is great, it's just excellent for teamwork.
Now I'm thinking of open maps like wilderness, where communication is the key of winning the game.
Even if I like skype more than team speak, for Kam where you play with a lot of random people, it could be great.

There are many dedicated servers for kam so I don't think it would be too hard to arrange. :p
The hardest part would by to make the community actualy use it, but I think that's just a matter of time.
(Like the remake, more and more players joining every day. :) )

Seems like a good idea. I don't use Team Speak, though. I mostly use Skype.

So do most people, it's more an idea for teams with people who don't know eachother.

Me and a friend always play with skype on.

You can invite people in a conversation and call them if you want. Ofcourse, TeamSpeak would seem easier but is there anyone with a pc that´s on 24-7 or has the money to buy a dedicated server?

There are dedicated servers for online Remake matches, so I guess it wouldn't be a huge problem to install TeamSpeak on it, would it? Although I'm not really a genius on the subject, though. I might be wrong. I guess you'd first of all need to contact those people.

Re: Kam team speak server

Well yes, I first wanted to hear what people thing about this idea.
And I also use skype while playing, but sometimes skype can provoce some lagging for the player hosting the conversation,
and yes like you said, teamspeak would be easier to join.

I like the idea, we had some games played this way already. The only downside I noticed is that some people are too busy talking so didn't build as good as they normally would. But yes after peacetime it improves the chances of winning.

Re: Kam team speak server

Today I played Wilderness: EdMatt, Mulberry and me used Skype.
I'm not used to play while talking, so I guess I need a bit more practice...

But overall, it was a funny experience. I liked hearing their young voices.
