This idea can work if people is interested in leaving behind the "avatar mask", thus revealing how he looks in real life.
The main interest is looking at photos and say something like "Oh! Look at Lord_Stronghold! HAHA".
This is mainly a funny distraction... with everyone submiting just 1 "good picture" of himself.
It's always nice to know against WHO is the people behind their computers -> A curiosity you asked yourself some time.
This could need its own space. Squares distribution of photos (with correspondient name below).
