Of course that is it. You can check this simply by opening them in KaM Editor.

Cheers, what files/folders does the terrain editor use? to edit the terrain, as i think the images for the bridges would be there as well

Allowing one to place tiles one by one is a much needed freature (creating bridges etc.).
Another not so much needed but could be useful would be mass height editing, I mean lowering/rising the height of the map by a specified sum. It could be useful if you want to create a canyon, but realize that the game doesn't allow lower terrain. Editing every piece of terrain by hand would take a lot of time, so this feature could be needed.
Also, what is this "save project" thing?

@RealHotdog: That are very usefull options, I'll add them to to-do list and hopefully implement in next version release.
Meanwhile ...
KaM Editor got help file, updated "New map" menu and smoothly moved to version 0.1b 8)

{TODO -oKrom : resource brush with fixed supply}
{TODO -ojbsnorro : copy/paste map pieces}
{TODO -ojbsnorro : random tiling}
{TODO -ojbsnorro : terrain which can't coexist next to each other}
{TODO -ojbsnorro : Ctrl+Z}

{TODO -oKingHarold : KAM TKE format support}
{DONE -oRealHotdog : single-tile editing}
{TODO -oRealHotdog : Global height editing /extra menu/}

As you see there are many features to add 8)

I noticed that you cannot alter brush size while placing single tiles, is this intentional?
Also when you have opened a map and then try to open help it won't find it. Your program tries to find it from the folder where the map is located.
Good work!

Seems like you still have plenty left

Single tile mode is supposed for precise editing, am I right ? I don't think it needs brushes. Though handy copy/paste function may be very good there
I need to fix that bug, thanks for report.
