Hey guys i didnt read this full post so dont rage on me if im about to mention somthing thats already been said but why havent we seen Barbarians make their way onto the remake?

They seem like a perfectly suitable unit to have in the game.
I'm sure you could make them balenced and the cost to make them realistic so they cant just be spammed.

Barbarians were one of my favourite units playing the campaign unfortunatly only got them for a short time but to use them in battle would be so sweet. I hope someone will agree. :)

I have an idea for new tier of units. Animals, like the wolf. It is fast, like horses and maybe a make it a counter for horses.

What do you like about this idea? Or is it said already?

Warcraft I had wolf-riders - they were quite cool :) But I don't think that ever fit into realistic medievality ;)

that was not really what i meant. Wolfs are like dogs, you can train them tricks. You can breed them like horses and pigs in kam and train them in the Castle (with maybe a leather or iron armor?) then give it orders to attack someone. No one sits on the wolf. I think this is what some people did in that time.

@Islar: Wolves are not like dogs. Dogs came from wolves, so that dogs are similar to them and dogs got domesticated at one point, wolves didn't.
I really doubt, that you can train a wild and scary animal, which avoids human (and vice versa), to learn any tricks...

In fact steel would be a really good idea. For example:
The normal steel bars you make with the smelter can be made to "better steel", maybe to steelbars and one coal together... Then you can make better soldiers, like the barbarian or completely new ones. And also the other freelancer could be created with some old or new weapons (The rebell with a spear, or the vagrant with a horse and an axt?!).
Think of it.

New features are nice, but this isn't Minecraft/a sandbox; i.e., we need actual reasons to implement new features. Tell us why these steel units are needed, then you can be taken more seriously ;)

I think the better idea than creating new units is to make the others "craftable". As i said, there could be a recipe for making the barbarian or the other freelancers. And therefor i would us a new sort of steel (in this case only for the barbarians). Or, if there is no need of new res. we could make the waeponmaker a bit more better, so that he can make a doubleaxe out of two mornal ones. + one armor and the barbarian can be recruited... This is only an example for better implementation of the other soldiers...
