No, as far as I know they don't know of this petition. We have no guarantee that they will release it at all.

The Knights newsletter seems to have helped, Germany now has nearly half as many as Poland. Also, since it was released the number of people signing per day has increased hugely.

Making patches, mods etc. is not impossible then,
i really like KaM, i bought it a long time ago (I have the first edition of tpr ^^) and there was only one thing.... Multiplayer sucks^^

Well, i know two bad bugs:
1. "Drunk soldiers"
2. Multiplayer doesn't work.

These two are the most important ( in my optionon ).

Yes, they will both be on the "to fix" list if we get the source code.

Here's something I'd like your opinion on: The Knight recently told me that he received no reply to his email asking for the net-games server executable, and so he thinks that the chance of us getting the source code is even smaller than before. Of course we will still send the petition. But the question is, when? TK suggested that I stop it at midnight on new years eve, the start of 2009, and send it soon after.
That would be nice and symbolic, but what do you think? Is it worth running it for longer in the hope to get another 20 or so signatures? (the sign rate has slowed to ~3 per day and is dropping fast) After all, we already have over 330 and an extra 20 or so will do little to affect ZuXXeZ decision.

So do you think it should be stopped at the new year? Please discuss...

I think that stopping at midnight on new years eve will do. A few signatures more or less won't make the difference. In my opinion, the chance we'll get the source code is extremely small. Maybe we'd have a chance if we had thousends of votes. But it's worth trying.

Yea, new years eve is a good time to stop the petition. Those 3 signatures per day won't really make any difference, as TDL already said. I don't think that the rate will raise till 2009. Many people already signed, or at least more than expected. So let's give it a shot!

I have an idea! I could try to get a lot of signatures from "The Hive Workshop"! There's a lot of people and my friends, so I'll try to get them to sign the petition!

Please don't ask people to sign this unless they play KaM. So if you have a sibling who plays the game sometimes then that is ok, please ask them to sign. But otherwise please don't, I would rather keep this honest.
