In theory kontry is right. There is normaly no limit in expanding a city. However in KaM that doesn´t work. Iron, fish, coal, gold and co gets empty. If you have a Gamestyle/map like the style of The Settlers, you would be right. There is no rational explanation why a certain limit of farms, mines etc. is optimal.
Actually there is. Even if youll get right amount of farms/pig farms/ woodcutters/ weapon production etc (Talking about big numbers like 15 farms 9 pig farms ...). And people will not block each other inside that town (for sure they will but IF). Then there is always 1 point where they become block each other and that slows economy more than anything. Its in front of barracks.
Hi,
In my peacetime base I have at least 20 farms and 10 swinefarms. 125 serfs and 32 builders. There is not jam.
Serfs are not blocking each other. We need to check it, I mean play together!
it is not really comarable since you play using 90pt and we play using 60 pt, by the time we reach 90 minutes the game is often over already, where yours just has started.

Omg you all the time talk about 20 farms 10 pig farms bla bla bla bla .. now tell me do you even know how many tanneries, weapon makers, woodcutters, sawmills. gold smelters you need for that to be efficient? You can have 20 pig farms but i will outproduce you in army with 6 ...
You all the time talk about big base but we talk about effectivity of that base. For example why you have 10 pig farms when you cant produce enought wooden weapons for it or gold chests?.
Side note there is also efficiency of buildings itself. Like not every farm is so good. or woodcutter.

Personally? I think it's funny what the standard of "expert" is for this humble game we play.

The only reason to produce more than you need would be to trade it when everything runs out. But I too have noticed that most of the time it's just not worth it, because it takes timber that could have been used to make weapons, serfs that could have brought those weapons to the barracks, gold that could have been used to train recruits (= soldiers!) and time that you could have spent on the battlefield, watching what your enemy is doing or poking him with some archer micro.
The only reason why I keep building after pt is because I'm a slow builder and I just need those 2 bakeries/vineyards to prevent total starvation.

This is just KAM remake community: complaining and not able to stand face to face.
I would like to compare some strategies, so wrote this post but no one is going to check it practically, instead of that I can see a lot of bad-habit people, who can only complain.
Bye.

You as a casual player don't understand our point. Also, don't expect anyone here (maybe except for a very few) to play those crazy game speed options you guys do on the public release. It is nonsense, uninteresting and inefficient. If you want someone from here to play with you, play our options.
Talking about bad-habit? Bad habit is playing 90 pt 3x 3x. gg

I prefer playing with 120 pt.
Anyway Kontr we could also reverse the roles. You could also join a game on the test release to show your skills. I really see no reason to blame people for bad behavior. A lot of people here don't play regularly on the current release anymore.
If you really don't come back and because of whatever reason you do still read this post. I wish you good luck in your life and games on cursed ravine. Bye.

I am guessing that dicso simply wanted to say what Revo said, but lacked time and will to be more precise. I 100% agree with Revo.

Hi,
It is really hard to understand your posts. Are you really mutual admiration society?
"Bad habit is playing 90 pt 3x 3x. gg"
I never played that settings. KAM Remake is the only comp game in last couple of years, I play very random due to my duties.
I checked the map popularity and Cursed Ravine was the most popular. So I decided to check this and play only on this one.
Because 90/2.5/2 is standard there: I suggested this settings.
I saw, no one is playing superb this game: just because of lack of development. And I used simcity strategy: my result was always very good, and the production/economy was the best. So I wrote a post about comparison: but see you do not understand how to play better and try to blame me. And it also means, there is no sense for me to write here or anywhere.
We could meet on other map: but I need to prepare opening (like in chess, the debut, I need to know how to place buildings).
I do not have a lot of free time: I learn/work in UX/UI/web design: so it is rather impossible. Sorry.
" I wish you good luck in your life and games on cursed ravine. Bye."
Well, thanks for your sarcasm. Pretty cool, hah?
Please read Umberto Eco's The Absent Structure, maybe you will learn sth. Ciao.

I reread the topic to see where your frustration is, and I think I might understand. You see, most people playing the Remake are using settings that are
very unpopular on this forum (which, ironically, represents the general opinion of what the game should be like). Therefore, anyone coming in saying that they play with a larger peacetime setting than 60 minutes (or even playing Cursed Ravine map!) is instantly going to be criticised for not playing the game correctly. To their(our) credit, it is quite depressing to see the way this game is played; especially since "randoms" are playing the same map every time. Most people around here are not going to even consider playing a game with you if you want to play on Cursed Ravine.
Don't get me wrong, I consider myself an individual who hates the way randoms are playing. I find it...uninspired. However, I am always willing and happy to have new members join the community on kamts.eu. Kontr, I would be happy to have a conversation with you on Teamspeak, and even play a game with you if you stop by and say hello on Teamspeak sometime. If you insist, I will even play a game with you on cursed Ravine, just to see what this game is capable of.
