There's a new version out :)

Version 0.6 features:
- Added support for extra large maps up to 1024x1024 tiles (not compatible with KaM, but can be of use for creating terrains and splitting them into smaller maps);
- Improved minimap display, now it displays heights and stretches according to map size;
- Added brush shape selector for terrain brush;
- Added speed selector for relief brush, also made Unequalize brush to work in 2 modes, raise and reduce;
- Updated tile rotation tool, now it can repeat rotation across many tiles - useful for water flow setup.

Nice!
Suggestions:
- For some reason when you first click to place terrain/tiles, nothing happens until you have dragged it. For example, if I choose dirt then click once to place an area of it, then it doesn't place.
- I think that "Brush angle" would be better as "Tile Rotation"
- Both types of wheat object (yellow grass) should be drawn as quads.
- When using a map larger than 256, placing houses/roads/fields causes a "Range check error"

The first and last of these are quite major issues, which I think should be fixed soon.

Still, good work!
Lewin.

Thanks for report Lewin!

1. Fixed.

2. I don't want it to be confused with neighbour Rotate Tile tool.

3. Maybe later. KaM Editor code is a mess :D

4. Fixed.

I will upload the tool in few minutes with the same version number, new package size is 880'385bytes.

Hi Krom,
I think I've found another problem. Try opening this map:
http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/Temp/TradeRoutes.rar

Look at the snow bank in the middle. (remove the objects so you can see it clearly) There is a sort of chequered pattern that looks like this for me:
http://lewin.namsys.com.au/kam/Temp/krom06bug.png
Is that what it looks like for you? Does this also happen in the Remake? Seems like a rendering error with lighting.
Lewin.
P.S. I don't think that uploading the same version number is a good idea. I think you should have made that 0.6.1 or 0.6a or something, so that people don't end up with different versions of the same thing. (this is one of my policies with publishing software)

I checked the map and it looks allright on my PC. I wonder why is that happening, looks like some triangles aren't rendering... maybe z-buffer error, but I use no Z in Editor... at least it looks like so, anyway..

Does anyone has same bug?

P.S. I agree.

I just checked on another computer and it looks fine. So it must be something to do with my computer? Maybe my graphics card? I am using an NVIDIA 6600. I'll have another look later, but don't trouble yourself about this if it only happens to me.
Lewin.

I have tested Editor and Remake on number of GPUs (5900, 6600, IntelGMA, notebookNV, 5200) and never saw such a bug. Maybe it's something special with your drivers?

Yeah, don't worry about it. I might have odd drivers or something, but it's probably my issue not yours.
No further discussion needed.

Last week I've made it to translate the terrain editor to Hungarian, although I can't be satisfied with my work, as a UUEncode form for an application doesn't allow me to change the length of in-game strings and a Hungarian word is typically longer for a certain English one. For example, it was impossible to translate "All" and "Find" standing alone.

@Krom:
To make it fit, I need access to your Pascal sources.
By the way, I hope you don't mind if TGWH shares the current translation at the Hungarian fan site.

Since I've decided to remove password protection from KaM maps made by KaM Editor, its sources can be opened. I need to talk with Lewin - maybe we can include the Editor into KaM Remake SDK (apart from our plans to make it that KaM Remake will have it's own built-in map/mission editor)

KaM Editor 0.6b released at http://code.google.com/p/castlesand/downloads/list

There's nothing new apart from few bugs fixed.

Just noticed a report by @rTeq from Polish forum (sent month ago), it's not fixed in 0.6b:
"Show flow direction" option does not show arrows on ice (but the water under it still flows).

Featured KaM Editor 0.6d features new feature - Magic Water. It aligns waterflow across all interconnected water tiles, neat and tidy :)
