Well my editor doesn't make an error like that (I didn't program it in, so it just can't do that), so it'll have to be windows..
Usually not a good sign, especially if it starts to say "write operation delayed" - that's often the last warning before the harddisk dies

First of all I suggest you upgrade to latest KaM Editor available - 0.5f. It has a lot of minor bugs fixed, perhaps this one aswell.
Try not to use non-latin letters or spaces in filenames.
Make sure you have plenty of disk-space and run a scandisk just in case.
EDIT: Is this happening with specific map under specific circumstances or is it random error appearing only sometimes?

Hi,
I had that once too.... But I was doing strange stuff so I assumed that was it. Here is what I was doing:
I opened an old PRO file across the network (on my Linux computer, as I can't run your editor on it) The map loaded fine. I clicked save, then saved it over another .MAP file in the same folder. It then displayed that error. I then deleted the .MAP file and saved it again and it worked fine. This happened every time I did this with other files under the same circumstances. (saving a PRO as a MAP on a network disc) As far as I know my computer is fine. I was upgrading all of the old PRO files on my website to the new MAP format to fix the walking over mountains bug, so many of the PRO files could have been really old (like before 0.3 possibly)
@The Dark Lord: Glad your back from holidays! When this happens just save it as another name then delete the old file and rename it. Work for me.... It's a very strange bug.
Lewin.

@Krom
I just downloaded 0.5f.
Non-latin letters, spaces and disk-space shouldn't be the problem.
It is happening ''sometimes''...
@Harold
There was a different error, but it there was also that error at the right bottom of my screen saying ''... is a damaged file'', pointing to a .dat one which I just saved with your editor.
@Lewin
From now on I'll do that/
Oh and I have a suggestion:
If you place some buildings and/or roads, and you press ''previous'', nothing happens. So, make it work please!

I got a weird error today: some of the building images where partially transparent.

(image of it)
This happened after I had turned the computer back on from hibernation.

Can't see the pic, no idea how this could be fixed though.

?
Oh, my host again...
try copying the link into a new tab/screen. If it then says "Permission denied", do the same thing again and it should show.

Hi,
@Krom: When it says permission denied, click on the "Go" button in your browser. (to the right of the address bar)
If you hibernated then all sorts of horrible things could happen. Unless you can make this error happen without hibernating then I suggest you ignore it.
Editor progress is slow, I've been busy recently.
Lewin.

well i wanted to open my selfmade maps in your editor but i'm getting a message that i'm working with an original kam map and therfore i cant save it...
Now i'm asking if u plz could turn of that no save function for original maps since the original devs dont care anything of u modifying the original game. KAM has been abandoned by it's dev along time now and i don't see any reasons for that security level in your program :roll:
If u can tell me a valid reason why u still have that implented, then i'll live with it :p

Krom doesn't seem willing to explain this so I will.
There are two reasons why you can't edit the original KaM maps:
1. Because of the way the editor works you must have additional data to use the terrain brushes properly. If you try editing an original map now with the terrain then you must do the edging manually, making map edit no fun at all.
2. Because The Knight, Krom and I believe that the original maps should remain unmodified. This is not because of copyright reasons, it's just what we believe.
Have you still got the PRO file for your map that you're trying to open? If so then you should be able to edit it by click open PRO. Otherwise, well you'll have to start over.

Hope this explains it clearly for you,
Lewin.

Hey, I've kept pretty quiet for a while but I've checked back occasionally and made sure to pick up the latest version of your nifty little editor
Just wanted to clarify...
Multiplayer maps now work fine?
BUT...
I'm guessing computer players will not work on multiplayer maps?
