Re: KaM Map Repository: KaMRepos

It's not perfect, but all maps submitted before dates enabled could just have a set default date, similar to how all very old members of the forum registered at "19:00."
Yeah nevermind, I already found a way around it. But I do have to admit I dislike the idea of adding another column (because it's getting a bit crowded), but I'll see if I can make it work.

Oh, then I add a request too - about sort-friendly date format, which is YYYY-MM-DD ;-)

I don't understand why that would be more sort-friendly than DD-MM-YYYY..

Re: KaM Map Repository: KaMRepos

this topic got out of hand quickly, let's try to add something usefull for once(althought chrisegg his post was fantastic to see :D)

how about the option to favorite a map for the next V2.0 version? the maps you set as favorite will always appear on top (or seperate favorites pages if that is easier). now you will ask why would this come in handy? Well some mapmakers tend to process a lot of updates in a short time, this way you can see if a map is updated quickly instead of having to search for them over and over again.

Sure, it's okay to come up with things for v2.0, but remember that that's going to be a matter of months, if not years. For v2.0 I'd need to rewrite the repository completely from scratch again and make sure it can still handle the data that is currently in the database.

There is no hurry. The repos works fine as it is atm.
