Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

Here is a link to download the beta version of the KaM Remake that will be used in the tournament. I will update this post if we release any fixes or updates to the tournament beta version.

PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING:
This version is NOT a stable public release! Singleplayer campaign fixes have not been added yet so please do NOT use this for playing the campaigns. Most multiplayer maps have not been updated, only the ones required for the tournament have been. Most translations are out of date because we prefer to only bother our translators once per public release (a few weeks before it is released) so they can do all of the work in one go.

If you are not playing in the tournament but want to help beta test the next release, it would be better to wait until we make a proper release candidate and send it to our beta tester mailing list. For example if you test the campaigns in this version you will be wasting your time because the final release will have a lot of extra fixes to the campaigns.

Known bugs: (bugs not listed here should be reported)
- Houses sometimes become partially invisible during construction. When construction is finished the house returns to normal.
- Trees, houses and units near the top row of the map may be visible in places where they overhang the top row of the map. Example screenshot

Re: Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

Installing this with Avast is a pain...kept freaking out about the file being malicious. WHy does it do it for this but not other versions of KaM?
I used to spam this forum so much...

Re: Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

There is a bug in server status file reporting (html) - the server will count closed slots as players, e.g.:
  Code:
1 Lobby 8 Golden Cliffs rom, Areallygoodnoob, TianK, , , , , wosiek
Also, this is both "report" and a question for fellow Linux (wine :D) users - does this release works for you in full screen mode ? On my system (Xfce based) the taskbar is overlayed on top of the game, I can't click on it but the area is also "outside" of the game screen (I can't move mouse there - map scrolling doesn't work). Stable release works ok and last nightly I tested also worked, at least as far as I can remember.

PS:
I'm also mirroring (like always) the files on my server, not sure if it's needed though..

Re: Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

Not really a bug but I just noticed the spectators don't have their own "team" in chat, is this going to change ? (it would be nice to talk to others without distracting the players)

Well, I would actualy like to have an invisible automatic team for the spectators. So what I mean. When there is a 2vs2vs2vs2 and you have like 4 teams, the spectators aren´t able to choose "team", but they are automaticly in one "spectator group/team"

Re: Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

Hi,

When scrolling through the lobbies, I noticed that names are not completely written out.
I saw a example with "Mannerless Mully", where the "y" is not totally shown. See the screen shot below.

Re: Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

Lewin asked about this bug so I post it again.

This bug with rendering of stones/timbers on top of trees is from Tournament beta.

Re: Winter Tournament - KaM Remake Beta Release

Just watched a game live and those stones were also rendered on top of a "Scout", so it doesn´t matter if objects like trees, or units are infront of the Building.
