Re: thunder's map

Good job fixing it, the elevation looks much better now :)
Do you know that this tree cannot be cut down by the woodcutter: (same in original KaM, there's no sprite for it falling down)
Image

People don't like it when it's too near their village. It's best to place them out of the way where players are unlikely to build, or next to a hill where they can't build anyway. But that's a very minor point, overall the improvements are great :)

Regarding starting food, take a look at this topic:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1085
You'll probably need to test the map for yourself to see what you think.

Re: thunder's map

Huh!
"tree cannot be cut down by the woodcutter".
i didnt know it, i beilive uncuttable because on the coal or kind of terrian...
i will check it and will see it. (but the wine cutting tricky is working, i tried out :D )

i tested LOC8 of the modified map, and i wasnt better, but i had towers.-maybe 3 metallurgist should be the better way, or built on the coal some buildings, or more than 55serfs... i didnt have lot recruits...

here is the replay about LOC8:
http://www.mediafire.com/?bi0ziq0c1wy1dr2

and AI-es was great, but loc5's stonemountain again win ;)

Re: thunder's map

You can tell that tree can't be cut because there's no animation for it falling down. Export the trees images (F11 -> export data -> resources -> trees) and look under the folder Export in your KaM Remake directory. Only the trees with images of them falling can be cut down.

Re: thunder's map

I looked the export folder, and cleared the most #127trees from the map.(some stayed between loc4 and 5 :) )

I continued the test with LOC6.
I had problem with devide of coal(-->gold prob) and it will be interesting and very funny on this map i had prob with wood:):) (i made only two cutters at the start)
so I was beginer with towers and foods.
maybe need more than 60mins PT... (?)

Is Loc 5 the biggest AI's opponent?

Re: thunder's map

Hi again thunder,
I've downloaded your map again and the improvements are good. However, there are still huge areas with only one type of tree in them. Trees are the largest objects on a map and are obviously very noticable. It doesn't look good, I hope you can fix it. Other than that, great work. ;)

Re: thunder's map

Evening!
:)

http://www.mediafire.com/?a9utl55bplt848j

Now i beilive Alice's hair is really dirty. (trees, some stone mountains problem solved in Loc4-5,+hill to Loc8...)

And repaired the Multi2, now the terrian is playable (mountains arent better than were...). On this map everything is really nearly but the building's place maybe not enough for 100 or much more buildings. It's oponent to Alice (where huge places are everywhere) (added medium food and 15 coal, 15trunk and 10 fluor to the store, because i thought not enough place for the woodcutters, and farms, and some iron are little further.)
If maybe something is wrong or have an idea i will correct it. I really would like to these map will be enjoyable.

I hope to everybody will enjoy these maps, and will find the way to the best performance on it.
Have a good game!

Re: thunder's map

The changes to Alice look good.

Multilands2 could still be improved a bit, the coal is very square and some places use the same tree again and again (there are slightly different versions of the dark green trees that make forest look more natural because they're not all exactly the same). Here's an example of trees that are almost all the same type:
Image
(I think the smiley face here is a bit too obvious, but that's just my personal opinion)
I also don't like the diagonal rows of trees in each corner, it looks artificial.
I really don't like the wine/corn here and I think there are too many stumps in perfect lines/rows:
Image

The shape here seems a bit too square and artificial:
Image
And one last thing, I don't really like the name, it has a "2" but was there ever a "1"? Just "Multilands" or another name would be better IMO.

Overall great work, your maps are interesting (they have a unique and "wild" feel) and you do elevation better than most people :)

Re: thunder's map

:)
Multiland was my second started map, older than ALice. Then my mission was:creat a map what is total equal, and interesting, there are some funny moties (more than one smiles and some greek alfabetic caracters are on (also in the elevate in:) )....).
Now the resources are balanced!:) (thanks the counter in the editor)

Yes, this is the second version, because another kind of coal's form were (circle) in the previously map.
I tried to concentrate on the triangual starting base(on the first page).

Well, i forgot the trees on the smile :( I worked on this problem, just forgot.
I see the blackhole and his distric (a ruined mine village) started without much succes.

Diagonally trees with some bigger stone-i created to a margain what everybody can see clearly in his loc. If these trees unnecessary, then i will clear them.
I will correct the hole and his distric, and smileforest and "t"-lake. and will check the flows, because i dont remember on it.
:)
i dont have idea how could i change form of the coal that will be same in every loc and will look like prety(900coal need).
Circle wasnt really good. Its now good if zoom in, but if zoom out then looks too symmetric, and see only the corners, and dont see the

And sorry for distrub on the forum with these unfinished maps...
Thank you, and everybody for the helps!!

Re: thunder's map

Nice work, it's added :)
I really like the way you do elevation by the way, the cliffs look really nice.
I don't really like the grapes growing on the mountains in a few places but I'll leave that to be your choice.

I'd love to play 2vs2vs2vs2 on this map, I think it could work really well for that :)
The question is where is the nearest Casino?
I don't understand :P

Re: thunder's map

Hi!

When i test LOC8 of Multiland i find a little mistake at the stone. I couldn't mine it all but wasnt a large problem.
I fixed it and checked all other stonemountains again with can elevate and can work function. I hope will work without problems....
