Re: Installation fails with KaM ED. 2012

Sir Lewin,

after your last post - I am not sure, if I confused the TPR installer with the Remake installer, so please treat my 9-language-post with caution. I tried to reproduce it by deinstalling TPR, but the installer knows that the game was already on my system so it don't ask my that much, not even the directory where to install TPR.
If it's useful, the jewel case is held in the languages German, English and Francais (manual only in German and English) and on the backside there is printed "Spiel in | Game in | Jeu en: GB, FR, DE, IT, ES, CZ, PL"

I am sorry for the caused confusion
Sir Sheffield

Re: Installation fails with KaM ED. 2012

The problem seems to lie in the lanuage string value after all. In the retail version the value is "Deutsch" while it is "GERMAN" in that version. If you change the value in your registry SR3 will install without problems.

Quite curious about the possibility of installing the game in Italian, Czech and Spanish, didn't know TPR was localized to these languages. Will have to try to get my hands on this 2012 edition of the game.

Re: Installation fails with KaM ED. 2012

I just bought the 2012 edition from the TopWare store personally and can confirm that it includes the following languages: Czech, German, English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish and Russian. There's no Italian translation though, even if the back cover claims there is one. Also curiously the Czech translation seems to be the unofficial translation that is also available for download from the website.

In addition it also includes a brand new soundtrack (15 tracks) and a new quite nice manual (only in English and German though). Also the ddraw fix is incorporated.

Quite an interesting piece, will try to hunt down a physical copy of it as well from Amazon.

By the way, I've uploaded an updated version of the German 1.60 Patch RC installer which will now work correctly with this 2012 edition of the game.

Re: Installation fails with KaM ED. 2012

Personally I prefer the original, the new one is quite different. There are a few tracks that sound quite similar to the KaM music already present, but most of them have a quite different sound hence they don't fit into the game. And some of the tracks are somewhat similar. I guess it can be a matter of it just being new and hence they don't quite feel like KaM to me, but I totally prefer the original tracks.

Re: Installation fails with KaM ED. 2012

Listening to the tracks right now ..

03 sounds okay, reminds me about some other track, but I can't put my finger on

06 has a good rich intro and interesting perplexing chords (listening to it for 4th time now)

10 is almost a replica from TSK "The Queen", with some new chords and artificial pipe, sounding bit sadder

11,12,13 sound pretty good :) Compared to others, which are indeed quite similar and synthesized sounding (did they made synthesizers in medievality? xD).

I'd like to get that piece on a physical copy as well, including Remake and everything hehe, please send me a note if you stumble upon one! )

On the amazon product page it says "skirmish mode". Does that mean the AI is able to build towns and even produce soldiers? Maybe a full working coop mode

The original had this too. It means the "single maps" button that TPR has always had. (7 missions using maps from multiplayer)

The new soundtrack is included when installing RC2 of the 1.60 patch.

Return to “1.60 Patch (Service Release 3)”
