That would be interesting. Having LAN and direct connections would be nice, probably. I, personally, have nothing against TKE, just any community-splitting that it might cause.

A new KaM should be 3D and not restricted to the original features. Making the same game makes no sense in my opinion, better to improve the Remake. Learning a programming language is nothing, if you know others too, compared to making a complete new game. I had been experimenting with 3D KaM terrains some years ago, but I don't do it now.

What's the point of 3D? It's not going to look better than the original KAM - on the contrary, it would almost certainly look worse, except maybe the terrain.

It can be made look better, but it's too much work.

So in other words, that's not going to happen. What's the point then?
Improving Remake also doesn't fix everything. For example, TKE would have (and always had) full diagonal road support, the "build road with towers" trick, and the "1 extra in a mine". I seriously doubt they'll ever be in Remake - they appear to be left out on purpose.

The point can be to make something big or a dream too and it also comes with several new possibilities. But why these tricks need to exist KaM?

They are left out because of multiplayer balance, which means exploits have to be fixed.

But What do you mean with the 1 extra in a mine trick? enlighten me please :D

Well, they don't really have to exist, but the whole point of TKE was to be as close to the original as possible, while removing the bugs that are actually a problem (like your units walking randomly across the map)

The "1 extra in a mine" happens to coal, iron and gold mines in TSK and TPR (and TKE) - you get 1 extra of whatever it's mining. Which means, for example, that you can place a mine on an empty resource, and get 1 anyway. It's not efficient, and almost always irrelevant, but you can get a little more that way, at the cost of some stone (and wood, but that's renewable).

Are you sure, herold? I thought that resource was a "fake" i.e., it would be inside the building, but serfs would never pick it up.

Yes I'm quite sure - I've used this a couple of times to make iron on a map that didn't have any. Pretty easy to test, I can make a mission for you if you want.

It's not necessary, I believe you :P
But isn't this a bug? Why would you deliberately keep a bug? :P

Don't re-quote to me, Disco, because I actually ready the threads. I figured being called a spammer would have made that obvious by now...

In my opinion, this bug is a problem. What if a map wants you to run out of gold, for example? Also, this is confusing and inconsistent.

Well I can always make it optional, if necessary.
Also, I thought it was common knowledge, and well-documented.

Anyway, I've always been of the opinion that the bug is necessary now. Removing it removes a possibility that has always been there, thus upsetting balance.
