Here's how a normal multiplayer game looks like to me.

Well when you add it as "new" objects later implementing it to kam, you could solve the problem, making more problems for burning i think. So first the snow is melting and than the fire pops up,or sth like that :D
That would be sweet if i could animate something like this... the snow slowly melting (HD GRAPHICS!!!!!!!!!!) and then the fire shows up :D

But for now let's just stick to the original idea and see how things go :)

And also.... to those who wan't to get KaM too realistic...
How can a guy burn down a STONE house with just hitting it with his axe? Comon it's just a game :)

By the way i have thought about my idea 2 times and it won´t be that easy, because fire flames are sepreatly pictures than the normal houses, like you can see in exported files. So you must redraw than pictures WITH fire and the melting snow in it, i think.

@KillingB: I would not worry about fire yet, it looks quite ok for a game where arrows can put stone on fire :)

Maybe Krom or Lewin could use the sprites for a house with melted snow make those sprites show up when the house starts burning. They can do miracles anyway, so maybe this might not be that big of a problem.

Put some snow on the iron melter's chimney

Put some snow on the iron melter's chimney
Well the chimney would get hot and melt all the snow on it, so I think it's quite good with the chimney not having any snow.

I agree.

I like the smelter's amount of snow and how it is distributed, but I think that the roof is quite bland (the same with the sawmill). Maybe it is because there isn't enough color shades (Like on the vineyard; I love the vineyard!).

And my vote goes to putting icicles back on the storehouse (In fact, I'd like to see most buildings with icicles. They definitely capture a "winter" look.). Sure it doesn't make much sense since the storehouse probably doesn't have a hot roof, but it still gave a wonderful look of beauty. On the other hand, the smelter needs icicles because it definatly does have a hot roof. Same goes for other buildings with hot furnaces inside them.

Smelter looks nice, but I have to agree, transition from roof to chimney looks a bit artificial. Maybe just a little snow on a side could fix it :)

I'm for icicles, however in places where they can form, and Stores entrance arc is not one of those places ;)

After many updates and lots of progress in a few days, I'm rather interested in the cause of this hiatus in this topic. You havn't given this up; have you, KillingB?
