I'd like to add that I have also been working on some stuff on my side and added a different kind of solution.
I am still working on it and really need ideas for example codes but, here is the link, it will be linked to from kp-wiki when it's close enough to completion.

Thanks for the efforts even though I know 0.01% about programming - about 2 hours working on basic in DOS in about 1998
oh, and messing with the programming on my TI-82 graphics calculator around the same time, hah

Sounds like fun.
I myself started with making fairly basic tiny apps and eventually grew to scientific apps for DIY hardware.
Now I intend to learn about game development and the tools around it.
The tools are mainly just as important as the game itself, if you want to test stuff that is.
